Recent films seen...

Casino Royale Considering that a lot of the new Bond films in my lifetime up until now have been nice yet ultimately cheesy popcorn flicks, seeing this film was extremely refreshing. A departure from the Bond stereotype on the whole, actually. Which isn't a bad thing at all (not bashing the classic Bond flicks, but change can be good :D). I loved the dark atmosphere and involving plot.

High School Musical Okay. I'll admit it. I liked it. I tried to hate it like I knew I should (me liking a DCOM? pfhhh... ). And some aspects I found mediocre or cringe-making. Yet...there was something so fun about it all. :|

One Two Three A piece of its time, definitely. However, it's a great comedy and satire at political thought of the Cold War. Billy Wilder was a guru.

Jurassic Park On TV again recently, though I sadly missed the first half. Another good one.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Seeing this on Christmas Eve itself, all big and in 3D was a magical experience. Why can't we have a christmas with horror in it? That would be better than a lot of the tat that we're normally exposed to.

The Muppet Christmas Carol A hat-trick of a film: classic Disney movie, classic Muppets extravaganza and classic Christmas movie.

Alice in Wonderland Not the Disney classic, but the 1999 TV movie, that was on the British channel E4 recently. I didn't catch it all, though. I had seen it all the way through earlier in the year, though, so I feel that I can make an opinion of it. On the whole, it was okay. Some of the cast was great. Gene Wilder was especially wonderful as the Mock Turtle. And there was some wonderful art direction. However, whilst the puppet special effects were very good, some of the computer generated effects frankly sucked. And some parts of the adaptation (the sentimental Wizard of Ozification that sometimes popped up, how the Looking Glass characters were folded in) weren't all that great.

I watched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs last night.
It's not really the best Disney movie, but it's really important since it revolutionized Animated features from that point on.

dvdjunkie wrote:Celebrated the third of me wearing shoes for the first time in three months and went to the cinema to see Night at the Museum. I can't remember when I laughed so loud and so hard in a movie. This is one really fun movie for the whole family and the cast includes Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Carla Gugino, Jake Green, Robin Williams, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, and oh so many more. The special effects are dazzling, and just enough story to keep you going. I would say that it is a cross between "Jumanji" and "Indian in the Cupboard". I will give this movie a strong 3 out of 5 stars and strong recommendation for everyone to go see it.

I am going to go see it tomorrow with my new cinema gift card. :D

I saw Night At The Museum today. it was okay, a typical family film. Not really the best movie of the year, but it had a few funny moments.
3/5

New Year's Eve was special in the Junkie house, with seven of the eight grandchildren over (we as grandparents volunteered to watch them while the mom's and dad's went out partying). We had a Herbie marathon and watched:

The Love Bug
Herbie Rides Again
Herbie Goes Bananas
Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo
Herbie: Fully Loaded

We had lots and lots of popcorn, some homemade hot chocolate, lots of chips and dips, and noisemakers for the kids, and all went outside at about 11:55 to welcome in the New Year. I think that all of the kids had a great time, and this morning I have awaken to seven sleeping bags full of kids, who will probably sleep for at least another hour, I hope!!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

These are probably one of the greatest franchises that Disney owns. Hopefully after the 3rd movie, Disney will call it quits for pirates for the next couple of decades. They are both excellent movies, and I'm not sure which one I more perfer.

Singing in the rain

It was on tv, and it's one of those classics you can't help simply watching it.

Van Helsing was on tv, and since I hadn't seen it yet, I thought I'd give it a try. It was pretty good. I like Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale was amazingly pretty. The mix of humour and action plus horror elements made it a decent movie.

Well, I took a little time off from llamas and pirates, and watched Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Now I only wish that I had the Collector's Edition DVD. It was a good movie anyway 8/10.

Finally saw Dreamgirls. What a fantastic movie. There are few words I can think of that can describe this movie. I'll just say it's the best movie musical I've ever seen.

Cheers,

Well, another dosage of "llama" won't kill anyone. I'm having a blast with my copy of the "Ultimate Groove" that I recieved for Christmas.

"No TOUCHY!"

Watched Snakes on a Plane twice today. The DVD is really cool, and the extras are truly 'extras', not just that usual filler crap. And the bonus DVD has some pretty cool things also. You gotta watch this movie, most fun you will have for two hours!!
