Cheers for the friend invite Enigmawing :) .

I really enjoy looking at you work, i've visited your deviant page a few times, my favourite one though, (I'm sure it's yours) is of the snow white with the apple. I can't seem to find it on your Deviant page though.

I remember it being a darker take, I really love it , but I can't find it anywhere. :(

Yeah, I've been in and out of this place since 2003. . . I'm no longer Sunset Girl due to personal reasons (or is it that I'm just insane). . . anyway, it *is* a long story dealing with issues beyond my control and I swear it has nothing to do with the witness protection program. ;)

Enchantress- Thank you, and it's so nice to have an old piece like that remembered. :) The Snow White you speak of is one of several pieces pulled off my account by dA because they were considered to be "inappropriate." :( I lost it when my hard drive crashed last year so I'll have to dig around online for it (I know I've posted it elsewhere too and that a few of my friends would have it saved). Oh yeah, and I guess it would be even more inappropriate to post here than dA. :shifty:

You're welcome :) . I hope you can find it, it really appealed to me. Just a shame it got taken off, I'm sure there's loads of more 'shocking' pieces waiting to be discovered.

I've got a DeviantArt account: http://www.slave2moonlight.deviantart.com and my "My Space" is http://www.myspace.com/slave2moonlight .

My latest work at Deviant Art is an ongoing piece of celebs as live-action Disney girls. Come check it out: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/59886887/

I just added Kay Panabaker as Wendy. May rework the face a bit on her still though, after I get a new computer in the next few weeks. This one is dying on me. Also just added Eilonwy using an actress from the newest Harry Potter film.

I figured I'd bump this thread instead of starting a new one, since I wanted to post something dA related. Anyway, one of the members here kindly pointed me to a piece . . .

Image

which was a pretty blatant tracing of one of my pieces from last year . . .

Image

I tried to have a civil conversation with her about it, or at the very least, let her know I was aware she basically stole my work. Didn't quite work out that way, lol.

The arm on our left originally matched mine as well as the rest of the outlines, but when she was called on the tracing she quickly altered it. :p I think what got me the most was that the other girl bragged about how she'd worked so hard and had studied the PatF trailer to get the face just right.

Here's the original comparison I put together . . .

Image

Anyway, after several people called her on the tracing, she not only altered the artwork in an attempt to hide it, she hid all the comments, moved it to scraps, and blocked me from making any further comments on her entire page. dA ended up taking it down due to copyright infringement against me, but that hasn't stopped her from reposting it, *still* pretending it's her own work.

The best part is that she labels her other pieces with:

My work does not belong to the public domain, not to use it without my written permission.

I suppose she can help herself to anyone else's work though. :p As I was saying in my dA journal, I really don't want to make a big deal about this, but it's pretty sad that she feels entitled to upload this thing a second time and pretend nothing happened. Sorry, just needed to vent a little. I actually love it when people use my artwork as an inspiration, but it's another thing altogether when people trace something and claim it as their own. She's been reported, so it's probably a matter of time before it's taken down again.

Just makes me wonder why people feel the need to do this in the first place. :(

Hey Enigmawing,

It sucks that someone's had the audacity to steal your work twice, let alone once! I am registered on DA, and although I've deleted my work and don't use it anymore, I did, this time, use it to report the offending pic! This kind of stuff really gets on my nerves.

If its of any help, enigmawing, I reported the picture and included the links that prove that she stole your work.

I posted right on the front page of her profile
I saw this art from you...
[link]

You didn't put it in Scraps because you didn't like how it came out. You it it in Scraps so people stopped pointing out you stole enigmawing's artwork.

If you are going to TRACE someone's art to make it your own personal paperdoll, give credit to the original artist at the VERY least. Otherwise you are nothing more than a fraud
Here is my DA, mostly photographs: http://sirengarg.deviantart.com/

Thank you *so* much for the support everyone!!! Oddly enough all the reports were declared invalid this time around. This was the reply I got early in November from the first time this happened:
devart wrote:This is an automated message concerning a deviation which you previously reported, entitled Tiana Halloween Art Jam. A member of staff has reviewed your report and the deviation has been removed.

Thank you for your report.

-- deviantART Staff
And the following is the reply I got earlier today over the exact same situation: :o
devart wrote:Your Theft of MY Work Violation Report on Tiana Halloween Art Jam was reviewed by a member of the staff and action was taken, marking the report as Invalid.

Additionally, the following comment was provided:

A member of staff has reviewed the report concerning this deviation and has ruled that the work is allowed under current policy as a type of fan art. As the "original" is a mirrored copy/recreation of official art, removal must be requested by the studio who created the original art.

My reply:
Sunny Wing wrote:To whom it may concern,

I would like to know why I got two completely different responses to the exact same situation, reporting another user tracing my artwork on a specific piece I did.

The first time it was removed by the staff. The second time, I've been told *over the exact same piece of art* that there is no violation because I supposedly mirrored/recreated "official" art. I'm not sure if that means nothing can be done because it's "fanart" or because you think I copied/traced official artwork from Disney myself, which was not the case. Regardless of whether or not it is fanart, regardless of which character is drawn, I worked hard to come up with the pose on my own and really don't feel it's fair of you to allow other users to directly steal that pose.

I also find it strange that no violation report exists of the first incident here. If you feel this pose is not my work, I invite you show me the original it was supposedly mirrored or copied from.

I expect an explanation of why this case was handled differently the second time and why it's acceptable for a user to replace one of their deviations removed due to a previous violation.

Siren, I saw your two posts on her front page before she flagged them as spam, good stuff!

Anyway, dA hasn't bothered to reply to me, but I see the pic has been taken down. I'm not sure if dA did it or if she took it down herself after all the posts and messages she's been getting.

Thanks again guys, I'm sure your reports and posts helped settle this!!! :)

Sorry to hear that the people at Deviant are being stupid!

It amazes me.

If the studio complains the fanart is copying their art.

But when the fan artist complains someone is copying their fanart, you have to wait till the studio complains.

Disney only takes down images of their characters in sexual or violent situations and even then, its not very often at all. Disney is far more worried about having Princess and the Frog on the streets a month before its release, not a fan artist's art being ripped off. DA knows that and they give a shit. How very sad.

It's pretty obvious that dA is not going to reply to me, but at least it's all straightened out again. :p I wonder if she'll have the gall to try this a third time.

Thanks once again for all your support!!! :)

This is from one of my lost high school sketchbooks so I thought it had been lost forever. Fortunately, my mom sent a photo of this piece to my grandma in the early 90's, and when I went to visit family this past week this photo was handed back to me. :) I used a production still as a reference. More info if you click on pic.

I just love how you capture the entire scene perfectly, including the camera angle on Belle and her expression.

I have a deviantart account, though I haven't added anything to it for years.

I do have one of the most popular pieces of Darkwing Duck Fan-art on the site though: http://matteoscott.deviantart.com/art/D ... s-41667500

Thanks guys. :) I wish I still had the patience to do a colored pencil piece. I have a nice new set though, so maybe one of these days . . .

I love that pic! I actually faved it a long time ago. :D

I might not be posting anything at dA for a while, but I guess I've been itching to share my latest pic.

I know, it's hardly an original idea. :p But most of the Tiana mermaids I've seen are based on the green dress (which makes sense of course, it's more organic and better suited to a mermaid) but I decided to go more toward the feel and formality of the blue dress since its original design is such a favorite of mine. :D

Well, I for one have never seen a Tiana mermaid before. But yours is gorgeous, Enigmawing!
