What's wrong with FastPass for Peter Pan?

^ It makes those who choose to stand in standby feel like they've already arrived at Neverland (aka time feels like it ain't moving 'cause the line's so d*mn slow).

Well, I for one do like FastPass. It helps free up your time to do other things without having to wait in line so much.

Then why do they wait in the standby line? I don't like standing in line anyways. I prefer FastPass lines to standby lines whenever possible.

I have a huge softspot for the Fantasyland dark rides--ever since I was 8 I think they'r emy sentimental faves in the parks even if it's not too cool for a 20something guy to say that.

Peter Pan is lucky as it's always gotten a bit more respect than its brethren like Snow White's Adentures or Alice in Wonderland due to the brilliance of its flying simulation...

Anyone remember the pre 1983 original version? was it much different? E Ticket Magazine had a great article about it (I still need to get their backissue with the Alice in Wonderland article, hrmmm)

Also out of the current versions what is everyone's favorite in which park? Are there big differences or does Tokyo DL and Paris basically just use the DL model with WDW's a bit older?

Well, I myself have never been on the pre-1983 version, because I wasn't born back then. I was born after the post-83 version opened. But I do have the E-Ticket Magazine on the attraction, so it does contain the old version.

As for the differences between the Tokyo and Paris versions and the ones in the States, Tokyo's version is exactly like the WDW version, complete with the Omnimover-style load procedure. Likewise, the one in France is more like the one at Disneyland, but with a four-person capacity per ship instead of two.

I love Peter Pan's Flight, it is one of my favorite attractions at WDW. My favorite part of the ride is probably when you fly over London and see Parliament. I also love when Captain Hook is about to get eaten by the crocodile. Unfortunately the lines here get ridiculously long, so I always try to go first thing in the morning, or get a fast pass; but even if I had to wait in the long line, it'd be well worth it.

Interesting Tokyo's version would be closer to WDW's seeing as it opened the same time as the new DL Fantasyland and their Pinocchio is the same as is Snow White (I think...)

You're right about Pinocchio in both California and Tokyo being identical to each other. I saw a video of TDL's ride to prove it. As for TDL's Snow White, it's seems to be a blending of California's post-83 version and Florida's pre-94 version. It's done in the same order as Florida, but the scenes themselves are more identical to California.

I've been hearing rumors that one of the bonuses on the upcoming Peter Pan PE is going to be Peter Pan's Virtual Flight. I hope that it's going to be a virtual ride-thru of the Peter Pan ride, preferably the one at Disneyland (and also Disneyland Paris).

Well, with Peter Pan specifically, Fast Passes seen to run out like candy on Halloween. On both my visits (one on-season, the other off) Fast Passes for PPF were out by noon.

Well then, you know what I'd do if I were you? As soon as I set foot in the park, I'd go straight to Peter Pan and grab up the FastPasses BEFORE I do ANYTHING else at all. That way the only kind of waiting I'll have to do is for my return time.

Only in Disneyland, I don't think it's at WDW's Magic Kingdom or the Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong parks.

Oddly, at least in WDW MK, fastpasses don't run out for Peter Pan until early evening at the earliest.

While I love the fastpass system (and love it even more if you know how to get fastpasses without putting in your ticket), there are a few rides that I feel are worth fastpassing only, and a few that are worth waiting in line if you can't get a fastpass.

Worth either the fastpass or the line:
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Worth fastpass only:
Peter Pan's Flight
Space/Splash/Big Thunder Mountain
Stitch's Great Escape (not that great a ride, but the less time spent in line, the less time you're building up in your mind thinking, "this better be worth it!")

Worth a line regardless if fastpass existed for it or not:
Jungle Cruise (cause then you get to hear the old music!)

I hardly bother with fastpasses at other parks except for Rockin'Rollercoaster, Star Tours, Soarin', and Expedition Everest. Otherwise, I'll just stand in line like everyone else.

Is it any good?? And does anyone else like it?

Wow! Why isnt this ride more popular, and more people don't talk about it?? I think its really cool!

Also, I think this is what Kathryn Beaumont recorded more dialogue for in the 90s. I think its cool they got her back to do Alice!

it's not at WDW (only teacups) and Paris has teacups and Alice's Curious Labyrinth which is a hedgemaze populated with character statues and the Queen of Hearts' castle in the middle.

Well, that's how I usually do things, too: if the line is 30 minutes or less, then I won't bother, but if it's more than that, I will do FastPass. I like to use FastPass whenever possible anyway.

That's right. Sure, there is at least one Alice-type ride in all five parks, namely the teacups. But as for a dark ride, only Disneyland has it. I certainly wish a few other parks had it, though, especially Tokyo.

The Disney Alice was built after the first three--1958 I believe. What I didn't get was why it was a B ticket and the others C--it's easily one oif the best

And when Fantasyland emerged from its 1983 overhaul, the teacups emerged with it, but the Alice dark ride did not; the updated Alice dark ride would not open until 1984.

Because the ride is actually pretty boring. Outside of going well, outside, the ride just lets you go through 3-dimensional scenes of the movie and doesn't have any highlights. It's almost as boring as watching the actual film.

As for Peter Pan's Flight, well I don't have much to discuss except say

THAT RIDE IT EVIL!!!
