Wish didn’t represent ANYBODY even though it attempted to check about a dozen boxes...
My biggest problem
Why make Asha two ethnic groups and not even represent one of them well

I don't think it's the name of the film, I think it's just a typo and it was meant to be "Fall 2026".

Well, regarding the next years release: Since Disney has entered another Dark Age (with the exception of last years desperate attempt to cash the Moana franchise): Isn`t it strange that Disney are releasing an annual movie for every year in this decade? As opposed to what they did in the Revival era? Despite how the Revival era was another Golden Age, isn`t weird that Disney had two years where they didn`t have any releases at all (in 2015 and 2017)? Why not having a break now in this decade and why didn`t they stroke when the iron was hot in the Revival era?

I hope this is a mistake. I cannot bear no WDAS film in 2026 when the surrounding films are all sequels.
Also, WDAS have missed years numerous times these last 20 years, whereas Pixar puts out two features every other year!
I've never understood why Pixar produces more films ... permanently.

I think it's for the best. This film sounds like a copy of Elio, and I doubt Elio is going to do very well... This way they can just cancel this altogether and focus on a better original project after Elio fails.
They need to work on some kind of trio of fairy tale and/or literature adaptations in the vein of TLM, B&tB, Aladdin and The Frog Prince, Rapunzel, The Snow Queen.

I agree, seems like they didnt have so much faith in it in the first place. But i want them to take a bigger break from princess Films until they fully realize what made them great in the first place: not the tiring formula, but interesting vulnerable characters to root for, unlike their last 7 movies...

I would also love a new collection of WDASs classic fairytales, but Im not confident in their recent mindsets so I rather have them pausing on forced releases altogether and really brainstorm what would work and kickstart a great comeback, RErenaisance? in the 30s, than todays WDAS ruining other fairytale classics by just jumping on the next best film idea which will turn out as groundbreaking as Moana 2 or Wish
I think Wishs underperformance really made WDAS think audiences had enough of princesses (when the fault was just the vague dumb writing), so they probably planned to try out every possible plot aspect for their upcoming movies like this Falk mess, but now with Moana 2 being (unfortunatly) a huge Box office hit, they scrapped all the other movie ideas and tinker around new princess movies, aside from the upcoming sequels

Lol!

What a synergy! Just as I was talking about how the post-Revival era was lacking a year of break due to their limited successes, Disney are postphoning this movie!
Well, it would`ve been tempting to say that it`s a pity. But truth to be told, since there was so little information about this new project, it`s hard to say that. Frankly, the whole thing reminds me of
Gigantic`s cancellation all over again...

The director of this film is most likely Josie Trinidad who is Filipino and previously announced to be directing a feature at WDAS.
One of the things that is most important to Bush is encouraging stories from diverse filmmakers and younger filmmakers. Bush announced on stage at Annecy that next year’s Disney Animation film is an original from an exciting new filmmaker. “It’s really critical that life experiences find their way into the story. I think it’s really important to continue to do that no matter what it is, because our movies have to be global and reach a global audience,” Bush said. “That’s a lot of different types of people, so having different types of people lead those stories is crucial.”

2026 movie is called “Hexed”!
“Coming to theaters in Fall 2026, Disney’s Hexed is an all-new original film that follows a teenage oddball and his mom, who discover his weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free.”

My initial reaction is, “This sounds like a 90’s DCOM.” In fact, it actually sounds a lot like
Halloweentown. Which isn’t what I’m wanting necessarily from WDAS (I want a romance, Disney!), but I’m willing to keep an open mind and I would love a WDAS film with witchy, spooky vibes.

Looks generic and underwhelming. Clearly continues the annoying Hollywood/Disney trend of single-adjective titles.
At least it's an an original story.

Josie Trinidad (director, Zootopia+; story credit on Zootopia and Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Jason Hand (co-director, Moana 2) will be directing

I'm honestly really excited for the movie! The concept art gives me old school whimsical Disney's movie vibe which I dig.

Concept art in a better angle:

The concept art looks promising. I'm liking the slightly spookier COCO vibes I'm getting.
Anyways, Disney will have to put as much thought into marketing this sucker as they do actually making it. I hope for all our sakes they're up to the task.

Well, the premise sounds like another Elio, as it sounds remarkably similar. But the plot still seems weird and psychedelic. However, it`s interesting to know the setting of the story, which country it will be set in. But the concept art really doesn`t give away anything about the movie and is rather vague. But I truly hope that the designs of the characters will be good.

Okay, I know the only thing we got so far is the title and the concept art and this is obvious wishful thinking, but I genuinely do hope this movie will be hand-drawn animated or at least a legitimate hand-drawn/CGI stylized animated movie. I'm genuinely getting low-key tired of the oversaturation of CGI animated films in the mainstream market and not just from Disney, namely the generic standard CGI films.
I don't think Wish counts as a technical stylized CGI animated film on account it's straight up CGI with a watercolor aesthetic.
