good, can't wait to see the twitter backlash and trolling. And the weird fans claiming how Prince Anders is superior to the movie starring brown people cause it's not "revolutionary" or something, and how Prince Anders should go on a date with Ella. :milkbuds:

Twitter backlash has already begun as Sotiris was kind enough to post a link to in the previous page.

Who is Ella? Do you mean the live-action Cinderella or Cruella from 102 Dalmatians when she was going through that phase lol?

You know who I'm making fun of. They're probably already writing some crossover fanfic ship between Prince Anders and Cinderella... rotfl

Lol shouldn't they be shipping Cinderella with, I don't know, her actual prince? Especially since they constantly go on and on about how the classic prince charmings are the only good Disney princes?

That's a great idea but we both know Disney's not going to do that. :P When it comes to Disney+ movies, they aren't willing to spend big bucks on projects not based on popular IP. And a movie like Sinbad would need more than their usual allocated budget (which ranges between $20 and $60 million). Timmy Failure was the most expensive of their non-branded films so far at $42 million. There was a Don Quixote movie in the works for the service but we haven't heard anything about it yet so I assume it was either canned or put on the back burner. With Disney remakes (and now their spinoffs), they can splurge a little more but they still have to remain under $100 million.

Somehow it's not completely to displease me for I love Billy Magnussen! But I just don't like of what he's doing in this remake.. :-/
I did think the character was funny, but not enough to have his own film, even on Disney+. I won't be surprised if there's a backlash to this film's existence.

I mean they released the Mandalorian under the Star Wars label. I think as time goes on and they become more confident in their streaming service and more projects exclusive to it, we could see some big-budget films as test drives, sorta like how Netflix has done some. Sindbad could be used there but to be honest, when I referenced it, I meant more as a theatrical film. Especially if they tie it into Aladdin somehow.

Oh my god.

Why? Prince Anders wasn't a good or memorable character to begin with.

In December 2019, news broke that a Disney+ Aladdin spinoff was in the works centering on Prince Anders, the character Magnussen played in the $1 billion grossing live-action remake.

Magnussen had learned that in Hollywood, rarely do opportunities fall into one's lap. That's why he approached Aladdin producers Rideback with the idea to develop a spinoff and pitched it hard. Together, they approached Disney, which has never made a spinoff from one of its live-action remakes.

"They had no thought of doing it. I just didn't want this character to die, because I fell in love with it so much and I saw how much it put a smile on people's faces," says Magnussen.

It's been a slow process, but Magnussen has been spending part of lockdown continuing to develop the script with screenwriters Jordan Dunn, Shane Andries and Chris Smith.

"It's an uphill battle, that's for sure, but it all stems from love and respect and it's a passion project. You see it happen all the time," says the actor, citing Ryan Reynolds' years-long push to get Deadpool made. "No one else was going to pitch this movie except me."

Good for the actor if he's able to push this into existence. I'm happy it worked out for him.

I found out about this on Twitter and I think the actor is super cute so I'd gladly pay to see more of him.

I'm happy for him that it's still going. I'll believe it when I see it though, especially after what happened to the Little Town series.

I feel like this would be a bit late. Is anyone still desperate for this to come out?

I still don't understand who loved this character so much to the point that he needed his own movie/series to begin with.

Looks like they had an idea to make a project centered around some "goofy" prince and saw Aladdin as an opportunity to introduce him. And it doesn't look like the project will be connected to Aladdin's universe much, if it evet happens.
