Our local store, which is in The Staten Island Mall, is kinda small, pretty frickin bland and kinda hard to maneuver around in. Like the rest of Staten Island.

I remember it being a lot cooler and a lot bigger when I was a kid before it went under renovations. Had sculptures of Mickey, Goofy and co. all hanging from the ceiling and everything. That was when the Disney store actually sold products for real Disney-lovers.

Plus it was right across from the Warner Bros. Studio Store, before they went out of business.

The Disney Store in Vancouver used to look like the 80's/90's one until it recently changed (or at least recently for me since I rarely get to go to it.).

I actually....kind of like how it is now. Tinkerbell flies around the trim of the walls, fireworks go off and it looks like a castle at nighttime all around the walls. There's a little sitting area for kids where a big t.v is playing what appears to be movie clips (I didn't stop to watch due to the crowd), and there's large white 'trees' that have scenes of bugs and clips from Bambi playing on it without sound. I thought the changes were rather neat even if the store itself does not cater to Disney Fans and instead caters more towards young kids/younger girls.

Even then, I still happily buy various things that I find there including a rarely seen Bernard stuffed animal.

I live in the suburbs of Los Angeles and there's 3 stores that I know of locally. The closest is in Northridge, the next is in Glendale and the other is the one I saw today in Topanga:

This is the main one we have in Vegas, which is in the Meadows Mall (took the photo myself this weekend):

Which looks like any other, I suppose. Mostly fluff toys for little kids, but sometimes they get cool items in. We were also supposed to get one at the Fashion Show Mall on the strip, but it was announced right around the time they were closing down a lot of Disney Stores (2006-2007) and it never materialized.

There's also an outlet version in Las Vegas Premium Outlets, it looks quite different but I rarely head out that way.

Image

We've also got a Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet, which is not owned by Disney but sells overstock/leftovers from the parks, sometimes they sell non-Disney items as well:

Apparently we used to have a really cool one in the Forum Shops at Ceaser's Palace, but it looks like it closed down in 2005 (I've only lived here since 2007):

We used to have a Disney Store in Waldorf (Southern Maryland) but it closed down a couple of years but it was modeled after the picture above. I loved going in there. The closest store is Columbia Mall (Columbia, MD) and it is the newer design. It has a little bit of everything but what I don't like is that the old stores used to show movies on a screen above the plushes and now all they do is play music. It isn't the same.

I used to have one at a mall that was about 45 minutes from my house. It turned into crap and it closed down. It was pretty small.

Beautiful entrance! :)

My closest one is in Antwerp. And that's in another country, so I wouldn't want to call that one really 'close'. :P

Our only Disney store in all of Alaska has been gone for about 8 years now.

But that's ok, the closest one is just under 2,500 miles away. Image
