I have some good good news and some debunking rumor news in the link below

http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/content/view/45105/

The next installment of the Batman film series, Dark Knight Rises, will include Tom Hardy in its cast. He is widely reported to be playing the yet-unnamed villain and will face off against a new Batman.

Christopher Nolan, who directed the previous Batman film The Dark Knight, announced two days ago that the film would not feature one of Batman's many arch-villains, the Riddler, disappointing many who had believed the Riddler to be featured in the new movie.

Nolan also said that "Dark Knight Rises" would be filmed in 2D, in contrast to the many big-budget movies that are now being filmed in 3D.

Now the focus is on Hardy and the role that he will play in Dark Knight Rises. On Saturday night, several entertainment websites including MTV.com were reporting that Hardy's role in Snow White and the Huntsman will instead be played by Johnny Depp, suggesting that Hardy will instead be focusing more on his role in Dark Knight Rises.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan is still scouting for a female lead for the film, according to a separate article on MTV.com.

Dark Knight Rises is high on the movie visibility list, especially with Nolan's recent successes with The Dark Knight and the wild-card Inception, both of which topped the North American box office, with The Dark Knight going on for record hauls.

So... NO Riddler?? :? well now who?

But yay No 3D AT ALL for The Dark Knight Rises

As for choice of villain, since Nolan won't use Posion Ivy (which is a shame) or Mr. Freeze (thank you for killin the character Gov. Arnold)
This is a case where you can't blame the actor for the crappy acting A very poorly written script is the problem with Mr. Freeze in Batman and Robin, NOT Arnold's acting. I don't care if its Arnold or Christopher Lee, when you are given a script that tells you, you will be wearing fuzzy slippers, singing, and saying "Cool it" there is no way to save that no matter how good an actor you are. The script tore the very core of the character of Mr. Freeze out and threw it away. However, the serious moments between Mr. Freeze and his wife, Arnold did just find in his acting there. That's because they captured that side of Mr. Freeze just fine. What they did was kill the badass-ness of him by throwing in the cheezy crap. Mr. Freeze is one of the most tragic villains in comic book history. EVERYTHING he does, its for the LOVE of his wife. And ironically because of that deep love for her, everything he does to everyone else is so very cold. Because no one else matters. His henchmen in the movie were a total joke. Sub-Zero and TAS captured Mr. Freeze best.

I think Nolan could do Mr. Freeze perfectly fine, since he goes for the more serious. But I doubt he will.

I just think its unfair to blame Arnold for it at all. The script sucked balls. That was the problem. Lay the blame in the right place, in Schf*cker.

The third in the series of the Batman movies is on its way. Yes, Christopher Nolan, the visionary director of “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” is making a sequel which is being called “the Dark Knight Rises”. The charismatic trio of Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman will be reprising their roles in this movie.

Also According to the one link, Tom Hardy has been hired to play a villain and they are searching for a lead female for the film.....

So if Tom Hardy won't be The Riddler, who will he be? And the female lead that they are in search of....could it be Tom Hardy will be BANE and this lead female might be the villain....Poison Ivy Perhaps?

I think you mean Tom Hardy, unless the Patriots quarterback is making a career move from football to acting. :P

Oops my mistake

Though in terms of of Quaterbacks moving to acting...I think the Vikiings have the QB for the job

Although slightly off topic....why is everyone say Favre should quit...I look at it this way.....Why does everyone praise a 90 year old woman for graduation college with a bachelor's degree at the age of 90 and can go be an executive for a big wig company or become more popular than Donald Trump and everyone applauds that idea, but Bret Favre a 41 year old guy can't play in the NFL because he's brittle and old???

Yeah, I don't think Mr. Freeze is realistic enough for it. It's a shame, the ultra-realistic tone killed off the possibility of having some very creative characters. IMO it sucked the soul out of Batman.

They better not even try that tone with Superman.

I think the thing that may tick me off the most about the current Batman films, is that Nolan says they will never lead to him being part of the Justice League. What a waste if you ask me. :P

Um, you probably don't need to worry, it's a little hard to go the realistic route when your main character is an alien who flies around.

No, they're not putting Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight Rises

By Sean O'Neal December 1, 2010

Despite fervent Internet speculation to the contrary, Christopher Nolan is not a monster, and he will not be using a combination of leftover footage and CGI to force the late Heath Ledger to reprise his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight Rises. “I heard the rumor. We’re not doing that,” Nolan’s wife and producing partner Emma Thomas said when asked by The Hollywood Reporter. Nolan added that Ledger would most definitely not show up in the new film. As it turns out, the whole thing was simply a rare miss in the arena of unsubstantiated Batman rumors.
Not that I ever thought Nolan would anyway.

Um... there's nothing there that says he's going to be in talks. He just said he'd like to do it.

Here, look at this.

*Ahem* If there's going to be a fourth Batman picture, I think it'd be really corking if I was cast as the 1960s television villain Egghead!

There, now I'm in talks to be in it, too.

Well hopefully they keep him away from this and....I mean what would he tell Lex Luthor if he was Superman or if he was Batman he'd tell Scarecrow the same thing.......You Can't See Me :P

There's rumor that Hugo Strange will be one of em. Which I find to be perfect and fits Nolan's style and Batman world.

Christopher Nolan's next Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, is on the hunt for two female leads, one a love interest and one a villain. As for the villain, sources claim it's Talia Al Ghul, daughter of Ra Al Ghul, the villain from Batman Begins (played by Liam Neeson). The love interest is still unknown, though some claim Nolan may bring back Vicky Vale, who was featured prominently in Tim Burton's first Batman film (and played by Kim Basinger).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ladies auditioning for Batman roles include Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara, Charlotte Riley and Gemma Arterton. Keep in mind that this is just a shortlist and may or may not include one or both of the ladies who will eventually be cast.

Interesting...Talia Al Ghul....interesting possible choice...
