I find out hilarious that the 'most critically acclaimed animated feature ever' (according to the cm) was so amazing that they had to revisit the film and completely slaughter it.

But so far, apart from the colours, everything Marky has mentioned IS on the DVD.
I believe the rose "sparkles" were changed for the IMAX/Special Edition, and remain changed on the DVD though. And various details (such as faces in crowds) were enhanced (for IMAX sized viewing) and remain on the DVD.

As much as I agree that the movie was butchered in multiple ways.... aren't we beating a dead horse here? Hell, the horse has been beaten for so long it's pretty much just bones now.
Let's bury the bones... am I still making sense?

As long as Marky is around, no horse is too dead to beat.

Please do not use my screen caps in your crusade against the Special Edition version of the film, especially when people have already pointed out that this particular change was done because of the addition of "Human Again" and the original is still available.

The changes don't take away the fact that it's still one of my favorite films of all time.

So they changed a few things here and there, big deal. It's not a good idea to make a mountain out of a molehill.
The Special Edition has an option to watch the verison with "Human Again" or the original. To me that kills the issue.

They're both availabe. Everyone's happy. Are the colors perfect? No. We know that. "We got it. We got the concept." Let's please do as PatrickvD says and bury the bones already! Sheesh, Marky!
Is there anything new we can fuss about now? Surely there must be something new we can discuss!

Marky should be allowed to have his is own opinions about the versions of Beauty and the Beast without people trying to silence him. I agree with him, Disney should release the original film without all their alterations. The worst thing about the special edition from 2002 is in my opinion the colors, and I find a discussion thread about all the changes made interesting.
When Marky starts a discussion about all the differences between the original and the special edition, he should get to do so. Then people that got examples of such changes should get the opportunity to discuss them in said discussion, without other people trying to coup the thread and silence any further discussion of the subject. Please, have some respect for other people and their opinions.

...do you know HOW MANY times we've discussed this? Or how many times Marky starts a post just to say the color is off? I'm assuming not.

He is allowed (as we all are) to have his opinions, yes. But when he touts it as fact or as a general consensus that all "true"
Beauty and the Beast fans believe in, that's when most of us have a problem. Especially when he's presented with replies that basically disprove much of what he says, and he still says that they don't "see" it.

The problem is the topic has been done to death in enough threads (some not even BATB-specific) that honestly, anything worth saying has already been said and IMO, Marky is just repeating it back again to hear himself talk.
Regardless if it's Marky or someone else starting yet another thread about the
Beauty and the Beast Special Edition, it's still breaking one of UD's primary rules, which is to not start new threads if a topic for it already exists, and to bump up the older topic instead (or, if the mods likely will do, merge all the topics together). Honestly, I don't care anymore if he argues about it until he's blue (or cyan) in the face. Ever since the forums began, we've had plenty of discussions about
Beauty and the Beast, whether it be the colours or the aspect ratio:
