My favorite movie is the Sword and the Stone, so I have to keep my fingers crossed for it.
However, its not very popular

so my second choice would definetly be Mulan.
It is another one of my favorites.

yes, I´m with Mickeymouseboy...
I have the hunchback artbook and it´s absolutely amazing, there are many wonderful extras to put in. The current DVD edition doesn´t make this film justice at all.
and Hercules and Mulan need a brand new anamorphic and restored transfer just like Pocahontas.
these three movies DO NEED to be part of the masterpiece collection.

I thought Mulan was going to be Platinum, I remember someone mentioning something in a thread called "Mulan becomes Platinum!" but I never heard anything about it after that, I hope none of the films from the late 90's and early 00's makes it into any of these lists. I hope its The Fox and the Hound.

I hope its Mulan, because like people have said the first disc didn't get anything special. I think that if they bring it out it will be with Mulan III. I hope they bring it out soon

Then one might think you should know it's called The Sword
in the Stone... No offense, sorry.
I voted for Mulan. Others I'd like are Bedknobs and Broomsticks and The Three Caballeros/Saludos Amigos.

Is 'Masterpiece Edition' considered better than 'Collector's Edition'?
I know the 'Platinum Editions' are the best of the best... but what comes after?
Anyway, my choice for the next ME would DEFINITELY be The Hunchback Of Notre-Dame. As much as I like "Mulan", it can't compare to the great "Hunchback".

It depends on what they deside to put on the discs, and on one's personal taste. They're all basicly the same, anyway (masterpiece/platinum/collector's/2-disc special edition).

Yes, I think so

I think right now it goes from
Platinum
to
Masterpiece
to
Collectors
to
"standard special" (Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Treasure Planet),
to
Gold
to
"plain-o"
(Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp)

For my part, I'd like to see "The Aristocats" on a 2-disc set

It's a movie that i like a lot, and I'd be curiuos to watch all kind of features the could be on that set.

I was thinking about this last night, and here's what I think will be the most likely "Masterpiece Editions". (This is not a wish list per se.)
Since Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty were mentioned in a press release or somewhere to be added to the Platinums, but Sleeping Beauty was already released as a 2-disc set, I think they may have just ment that they'll be released as 2-disc sets in the "near future" (instead of being released after the original 10 Platinums). Remember, Peter Pan was already released as a Collector's Edition in region 2, and Pinocchio was released as a restored 1-disc Special Edition.
Another thing - the Masterpiece Editions are probably being made of films to which enough bonus materials are already available (= they'll be cheap to make). Alice had bonuses mostly from the Archive Series LD, and Pocahontas will probably have bonuses straight from the Deluxe LD, as did Sleeping Beauty.
So, the most likely ones are:
Pinocchio - the R2 restored print of the film
Peter Pan - could have the same bonuses as the R2
Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeros - was released in the Archive Series on LD
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - had a Deluxe LD release
Mulan - this was announced to be rereleased in R2 at the same time with Pinocchio, but was cancelled. Some reports also mention a 2-disc DVD having been released in Japan.
In any case, a lot of bonus material should be readily available.
Can someone think of more likely releases, to which bonus material is already in existance?

I personally think it should be a remastered breath-of-fresh-air release of Song of the South. I know if it does come out it won't happen until a long time, but I would love to get my hands on a copy of this film, VHS or DVD. I'm surprised I'm the first to want it.

Anybody has any word on the rumoured special edition of "Dumbo"? Inga? Anyone?
I mean, it was supposed to come out this year... Has it been delayed as well?

Why would Dumbo need a Special Edition? I think it got a pretty decent DVD, there's no need for another release. There are plenty of other Disney films, that I could mention, that deserve it and need it. Dumbo is okay as it is.
