But seriously, I refuse to buy Wall-E until I can find it in a plastic case. People have supposedly seen them, but nobody was able to buy me one and send it my way

It's like the low flush toilets... Sure, they have less water usage, but if people have to flush twice to get something down, then they use just as much water...

I agree. I'm just going to buy standard Amaray cases to put those movies in... They're really flimsy and just look incredibly stupid.

I'm not really a fan of these eco-friendly DVD cases. Last year I bought season 3 of Weeds when it first came out and when I opened it, one disc was loose, and the discs were scratched very easily and eventually made some episodes unplayable. I got an exchange at Target (where I had originally bought it) and took better care of it. A year later, the discs on my new copy are just as scratched and I see that Lionsgate has repackaged the set in a thicker case (still eco-friendly), but I wonder if it is more like season 4's case. Season 4's eco-friendly case holds the discs in place much better, so I wonder if they got the hint from all the faulty S3 discs and modified the packaging for S4 and re-released S3. For some movies like Paul Blart and Thank You For Smoking, which don't use as much plastic on the black part of the case I don't mind because I looked closer at the way the disc is held in the case, the spindle suspends the disc slightly above where the holes are, so there isn't any direct contact with the bottom of the disc and the holes, so it's not completely terrible. I just hate how the cases are ridiculously flimsy. I don't own Paul Blart or any other movies that come with these eco-friendly packages (I borrowed Paul Blart, There's Something About Mary, and Thank You for Smoking from a friend), but if I do buy a DVD that comes in one of these eco-friendly cases, I will definitely swap cases with another DVD (one that I don't watch as often, or one I'm going to trade in).

My copies of the King Of The Hill DVDS have eco-friendly packets.

Not a fan. I mean I'm all for helping the environment I'm just not thrilled with these cases. As an avid movie fan and DVD collector, flimsy cases are not welcomed. They're a pain to get the disc out and they have a better chance of being ruined/breaking (I speak from personal experience, and I'm disgustingly meticulous about how I treat my DVDs).

To be honest, they don't really bother me either way. A few weeks ago I ordered around 17 DVDs from Amazon, and over half of them came in the eco-cases.

I have to agree with you there on that MadasaHatter.

Ironically, in Australia, the Wall-E 1 disc edition (which was originally released here in the new enviro-friendly packaging) has now been re-released in the standard Amaray casing
