Maybe a new countdown can be done in ten years time. Then enough new movies will have been released to be judged for heroes, villains, songs etc.
Otherwise I don't think there be enough changes to in the list to make an worthwile update.

Why not do a countdown for top Cartoon shorts? There's hundreds to choose from, it's something new and that hasn't been done before and would be a good reason to break out those Treasures for a viewing

This isn't a bad idea, but I would make a separate category for 'silly symphonies' and the cartoons starring Mickey and the gang.
Oh... I detect a problem there: Donald's first cartoon short is also a Silly Symphony.

Well, if we did it like the 50 Greatest Cartoons list and had it so shorts must be under a certain run time we wouldn't really need seperate 2 categories. Although if we did do it seperately we'd get two countdowns instead of one

I really like that idea!

That's really something to consider, because I really want to do another countdown since I joined too late for the others, and its always fun to revisit my Treasures!

Well now that I've had time to rethink, this would work better than one big one, if you include the shorts from Disney Rarities (Alice aside since it's half live action?) and other misc. shorts like that.

Of course we could also do a countdown for the newer shorts as well

Aside from the various Cartoon Short countdowns, I was thinking maybe having these coundowns;

- Countdown: Live-Action Actresses (Walt Era)
- Countdown: Live-Action Actors (Walt Era)
- Countdown: Live-Action Actors(Post-Walt)
- Countdown: Live-Action Actesses (Post-Walt)

Considering we had a countdown for the live-action movies, why not also countdown the best actors and actresses that helped bring those movies to life? Maybe even do a countdown for the Animators in general?

Those are all great ideas, but the way most people on the forum remain oblivious to the live-action films makes me think the work would far exceed appreciation on such an undertaking. Cartoon shorts is something I have entertained before and I think it could be very interesting, but the huge candidate pool does make a little wary that shorts which are one-off, non-series, etc. would dominate. It just might be tough to get a real consensus there, but I guess that's the goal.

Anyway, while I think the rest of this year is out of the question, a countdown is something I'd love to find time for early next year.

Perhaps if the Cartoon Short's were divided into smaller Countdowns? Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Silly Symphony, Rarities (for One Shots and Non Series) etc.

Even then the pool for each would be large, but not as large if they were all together.
