It seems to come from a French Disney Blu-Ray site.

00:00:57:20 (SESAME STREET SHORT)

I'm going to buy this on blu-ray format. What's cool is that this will be vol. 1, meaning that there will be more vol. after this one.

Because it says so on the U.S. cover art - click here.

Pixar's just thinking ahead. Since they're always making shorts for training and entertainment purposes, we'll probably see a volume II in a few years' time. :)

At least I hope it was.

Quick question: Do we have any info yet if the dvd's gonna be a single or a 2-disc release?

It will be one disc.

"Priced like a new movie (SRP: $29.99 DVD, $34.99 Blu-ray), the single disc will present 13 animated shorts enhanced for 16x9 displays and in Dolby Digital 5.1."

DVDTalk.com has posted their review of the DVD! They give it a Highly Recommended review, saying that this collection is "impossible to resist". I can't wait to pick this up!

I like how they used the movie theater design from their website for the menu.

From Pixar's Website:

From DVDTalk:

I can't wait to get this as well. It is such a pain to grab a DVD off my shelf to watch for 5 minutes just for the short and then to put it back.

I don't know where magicalwands got the image of the shorts, but, that is not the menu for the DVD. If you click on the link to the DVDTalk.com review, and scroll towards the bottom of the page, you will see a smaller image of the shorts menu. It does, in fact, of Mater and the Ghost Light.

Sorry, I thought I was being clear.

I edited my post. The first picture is from Pixar's website and the second one is the actual menu from the DVD.

Thanks for your review, Luke. I disagree with your conclusion. I think that people will be able to buy this in stores for around $13.99-$16.99, and I believe that price will be well worth it. I am sure that most of the Disney/Pixar fans here will, in fact, have a majority of these shorts on the different Pixar DVD releases. However, having them all in one place, along with the bonus content, should make this set worth picking up at that price.

Best Buy and Circuit City's websites always list the price it will be on the first week and they both list this DVD as 19.99. Unfortunately, I do not think that is a price low enough to buy it. Although I am praying they will make a deal if you buy that and Ratatouille.

I agree with Luke on this one and will probably wait for a price drop. What with it coming similtaneously with Ratatouille, though, I do think it's quite likely there will be a combined purchase deal (2 for $25, etc.), in which case getting it now would be justified. We'll see on the prices of this one. It seems that Blu-ray owners have more reason to buy this than those of us sticking with standard-def DVD do because this represents the high-definition debut of all of the shorts (except those also available on Cars and Ratatouille the same day), since none of Pixar's other films are on Blu-ray yet.
