Of all the Pirates movies, the first one is by far my favorite and has much as I wished for a sequal after the first one, part of me wishes they hadn't because I think a fourth one is pushing it and I think they should've stopped while they were ahead, which I don't think they really are anymore, they're know hopefully clinging on to Jack Sparrow for more profits. I think Jack Sparrow is the main attraction to the pirates movie so I can see why the would choose stick with him and Barbossa, but Will and Elizabeth are sorta the opposite of Jack. I know that's changed through the movies but its still when Will and Elizabeth are concerned Jack's conscience seems to come out and keeps it balanced nicely, even with the two of them becoming pirately. I guess my point is that there will not be a balance in the fourth one.
It could be cool if they added Blackbeard though, there's so many rumors and different stories about him they wouldn't have to stick to one ideal, as they would for Long John Silver and Hook.

I do like Elizabeth and Will. Every movie needs a love-story, and those two were fun. Especially Lizzy's role in AWE was IMO really nicely done.
I will miss those two if Pirates IV should be made, although I hope this will not be the case. 3 is a very nice number and perfect for a movie series!
That being sad I have to admit that I love the Tiki Room and adore It's a small world.

No, not really. But selling us to the idea that this new pirate is the biggest, meanest thing in the seas after saying the exact same thing about Jones, it
will cheapen his appearance just by default of having the writers try to top the original meanest, baddest bada$s out there.

While I would be perfectly content with 3 films, I will see a 4th if it is released, particularly if Geoffrey Rush stars in it once again (he is just sooooo briliant!).
My predictions are that they might encounter the legendary Blackbeard. And perhaps the journey to the fountain of youth will be harder than they thought (or, has that been changed now to Atlantis?)
Well, the good news is that if this is indeed released, then it won't be released until at least 3 years from now, giving us a break to re-fuel our interest in another installment.

well they want to make another trilogy so we might get three mythical adventures, adventure 1. the fountian of youth, adventure 2. Atlantis, adventure 3. the discovery of austrailia and meeting the spirits of the outback.

It seems that this story is popping up everywhere. IGN.com has posted a bit about it. The article contains nearly the same information from the article I posted at the beginning of this thread, adding just a bit more detail.

Pirates 4 Buzz
Plot rumors galore!
by Stax
June 20, 2007 - With Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End doing good business at the box office, it's no surprise to hear rumors about a potential Pirates 4. Series producer Jerry Bruckheimer has said the series could continue if the filmmakers can come up with a good story. Now there are rumblings online about what some of the plot ideas being kicked around are.
According to a scooper for CinemaBlend.com, Johnny Depp is all but set to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow (for a $35-40 million payday, they claim). Also reportedly expected to return are co-star Geoffrey Rush and director Gore Verbinski, although the latter has made it clear to some that he's done with swashbuckling. Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are not expected to be back, but that's been assumed for sometime. The site adds that production might not begin until sometime between 2009-2011.
CinemaBlend's scooper claims "the fountain of youth story [introduced at the end of Pirates 3] might not be the only story they might use the next pirate's film. The fountain story could be used in another form to introduce the story for Pirates 4."
They add that, "Some of the brainstorming going around involves some Jules Verne type of scenarios involving some pretty big flying machines, a man who wants to rule more than just the ocean, an encounter with the most famous and dangerous pirate of all, a race to get to a lost world (Hint, Hint) and Jack and his crew going to where no pirate has gone before (No, it's not space but Disney has made an animated movie about this place before with Michel J Fox voicing one of the characters)."
Jack Sparrow discovers Atlantis?! Time will tell.

Now the way I read this I can't help but thinking that the losdt world is Neverland and the famous pirate is Captain Hook. If they're going to go into outer space in Jules Verne style space ships how hard would it be to drop by the second star to the right and straight on till morning? Just sayin'

well in alot of materials neverland is on earth so if they go to space they'rs more likely to treasure planet.

Yes but in the Disney version Neverland is in outer space. I doubt Treasure Planet would be used since it's seen as a tremendous flop. I think they got Silver way, way wrong.

actually they might be making you think Neverland might be in outer space, cause in the sequel they don't the way like in the first film so it makes it look like another diemension but in the prequel books its on earth since Peter could fly all the way to london to warn a friend.

But in the Disney film from the 50's it is in outer space. Disney has disregarded information in books before and I'm sure your average person on the street would say Neverland is in outer space due to Disney and Star Trek.
What appears in Return to Neverland made Neverland appear to be another dimension but most people I've met didn't get that. Sequels are hardly canon for Disney either.

It would be great if another Pirates movie came out! As long as Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush are in it I'll be satisfied. I'm not saying I wouldn't miss Will and Elizabeth, but I wouldn't be devastated if they weren't in it either.
I would love for Davey Jones to somehow make a return too!
Oh and one more thing, if Long John Silver was in it... he would HAVE to be played by Tim Curry

And Kermit should have a cameo.

Atlantis?
With a hint like Jules Verne and Lost World I don't think we're talking Atlantis. I think we're talking Lost World as in . . . dinosaurs.

Who else has to laugh at the thought of Captain Jack Sparrow running away from dinosuars?

i would second that. and speaking of dinosaurs earlier i read a fanfic where the newest chapter had Jack become a dinosaur, actually he was tecnally a flying reptile, and when a fight came he would fly away.

in case your wondering what it is it's called Kingdom Hearts III: Trials of the Keyblade on fanfiction.net.

Don't ever read fanfictions especially ones involving Kingdom Hearts. They suck royally 99.5% of the time. One you told us is a prime example.

it's actually better than KH2 and funny. so far the main characters include Sora, Kairi, Mulan, Beast, Inuyasha, Naruto, and Jack.
