Due to a yard sale find this morning Sleeping Beauty's Black Diamond Classic is now the oldest member of my collection. (I'm attempting to collect all the Black Diamond Classic VHS)

If we're talking about what I've had the longest than I'd have to go with Beauty and the Beast's Black Diamond Classic. I got it for christmas in 92.

Its not only the oldest but it is the ONLY Disney DVD I own. I am not sure when I bought it but it was when they were still selling videos inside Disneyland park. I bought Mr. Toad/Ichabod Crane - because at the time it was my favorite all-time Disney movie(s). I didn't really start collecting Disney DVDs until joining this site in late 2005.

Original The Little Mermaid VHS release. I've watched it so much, it's started to fade and go fuzzy!

I think that my oldest Disney VHS is Cinderella but I'm not sure since I don't know the release dates of the Disney VHS... where could I find that?

Mine is definitely The Little Mermaid VHS with the original cover art. I got it for my 4th birthday in 1990. I remember watching it so much that it developed a little snowy/fuzzy/crackling during 'Fathoms Below' and I watched it that way for years. So when I got the DVD and finally got to watch that part with clear picture and sound it was jarring.

I also had the Cartoon Classics Limited Gold Collection set. I didn't realize they were that old...I was born in 84 so my parents must have gotten them like one or two years later at least. But I also had some of the Beta tapes, I forget what they are but I think I still have most somewhere.

I'd have to check the packaging, but I'd imagine my Roadshow copy of the Fantasia VHS would be my oldest. It's the earliest I remember owning anyway.

The original VHS release of Sleeping Beauty. Other then some aging yellow color on the clamshell cover, the cover art is perfect and the movie plays in excellent quality.

"Roadshow" - wouldn't that be the 60th Anniversary Edition...?

My Disney VHS library contains Black Daimond releases, some Disney Masterpiece Collection, and few were Golden Collection releases. To me, I think the oldest copy I have was Mary Poppins. The cover itself reminds me one of those covers from the 1978 release. And yet, I don't know what year this vhs copy was released. Can anyone verify this? Here's a pic of it from Ebay:

This is the vhs copy of Mary Poppins I have and it runs in good condition. :D

RyougaLolakie, that is the 1985 edition

It was repackaging for Disney's "Making Your Dreams Come True" promotion from Dec. 1, 1985 to Jan. 31, 1986. There were two previous covers, one in 1980 and another in 1983. Good find though.

Thanks for the verification, Imaxination80-92. As of now, I'm counted my Mary Poppins copy as my oldest Disney copy in my whole Disney library. Again, thanks. :)

Wow...so far I think I have everyone beat! I have the very first vhs release of Mary Poppins. It's extremely rare. It is a clamshell box. Design on the top half of the box is Sorcerer Mickey and the Walt Disney Home Video Logo. The bottom half is an illustration (not a photo) of a lone Mary Poppins flying over the London skyline. I remembered it from when I was very little. One of the first videos I rented, along with Star Wars...lol. Took forever to find. Probably from '81 or '82??? Also have the extremely rare Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall. Also one of the first titles available on Walt Disney Home Video. Similar design to Mary Poppins. I feel old.
