I just think Rosie's quitting because of the arguement with Donald Trump. I just want to say "Good riddance" even though I don't watch the View.

Well that's okay. She still has a lot of fans with or without you.PapiBear wrote:I am not a Rosie fan. Thus, it is a win/win for me.
Well, I'm sorry you prefer "silly crushes" and "duets" to debate (regardless of if what she debated was right or wrong). That seems to be the problem with politics both in the UK and the US. People care more about non-entity, talentless "celebrities" and who they are dating, doing or saying rather than stuff that actually, you know, affects their own lives.dvdjunkie wrote:Rosie isn't quitting.............she just didn't want to sign a three-year contract with ABC, and not have any options to do other things.
Well, that's what she says, and what ABC says, but if you read CNN and other news reports, she is being let go because of all the controversy she stirs up, and all the hatred of the Bush admiinstration that she should keep to herself, and of course, if you saw her on that show Friday night when she grabbed her crotch and told Donald Trump to "eat me", that was probably the straw that broke the camel's back.
When Rosie had her own variety show she was fabulous. She had that silly crush on Tom Cruise, and sang duets with some of her favorite artists like Garth Brooks, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, and so many more.
Well Mr. junkie, I happen to think, and I know I'm not nearly alone in this, that her "hatred of the Bush administration" (which is Universal, prevalent in every nation including our own, and well-earned) is what's made the show interesting and strong. When it used to be a pretty uneventful hen-peck session with nothing being accomplished, and the biggest controversy was between Barbara Walters and Star Jones. Funny if you hear about it 2nd hand, but not half as fascinating to see for yourself.dvdjunkie wrote:if you read CNN and other news reports, she is being let go because of all the controversy she stirs up, and all the hatred of the Bush admiinstration that she should keep to herself
He deserves at least that. And again, Junkie... do you think his poor feelings were hurt? You will remember that he's been fueding with celebrities for some time now. And I hardly think his spat with Rosie was as ugly as his entire season of The Apprentice with Martha Stewart. He's been asking for what Rosie dished out at him for some time now. Even if Martha Stewart is a bitch.dvdjunkie wrote:and of course, if you saw her on that show Friday night when she grabbed her crotch and told Donald Trump to "eat me", that was probably the straw that broke the camel's back.
Did you enjoy her Interview with Tom Selleck?dvdjunkie wrote:I was a big fan of Rosie's then.
She just said what was on a lot of other people's minds. If Popular Science magazine can prove it didn't happen, why does she need to be involved with that at all? She's not the only one who, apparently, felt as though the Bush administration may have had a hand in what happened on 9/11. Why are you so obsessed with the Messenger being the one who takes the fall? Who are you seeking justice for? Those murdered on 9/11, or yourself?dvdjunkie wrote:She showed no remorse in her telling everyone that American brought down the World Trade Center just to start a war in Iraq. She had no facts
Hardly the first time she's ever publically addressed this issue. It's not like anyone's going to be surprised. She's always been very passionate about Gun Control.dvdjunkie wrote:After the tragedy at West Virginia, all she could do is scream about Gun Control...and we all know how much off base she was with that.
Yes, how many did they lose? Do you have the figures?dvdjunkie wrote:I think that the Disney corporation was tired of losing the sponsors
Yeah - she was terrible! The things she did, why they're just so terrible, I don't know how she didn't get arrested for them. Let's arrest her. And throw her in jail. Never let her out. If only she knew about all the lives she's destroyed with her... words... of injustice and sadism. How could she practically stand there and advocate... destroying all those innocent people's lives? How can she sleep at night with her... uncaring, unfeeling opinions? She just said and did the most...terrible things. Thinking of no one but herself. Oh! The humanity!dvdjunkie wrote:all the terrible things she was saying and doing
Isn't dvdjunkie just a pip, ladies and gentlemen? All this is not about how he feels she's deceived him with her free thinking, opinionated, sharp edged perspective on political and social issues... He's just concerned for her well-being. How cute is that? Just cute as button, yes it is. Oh look at that, you're just so sweet and cute.dvdjunkie wrote:I hope that Rosie goes back to the 'old' Rosie and comes back to afternoons with another of the shows she does best. She is a great talent and it is a shame that she has to see her career come to a halt this way. She is a tropper and I am sure that we have not heard the last of Rosie O'Donnell.
Not likely. She's probably leaving so that she can have her own show and push her agenda with no one else at the table to counter her views.Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote:Let's hope this will be the last we ever see of her.
You have a point there. And a pretty good one.carter1971 wrote:First of all, I don't like hypocrites. We all know how passionate about gun control Rosie supposedly is. But, as most of you remember, in May 2000 it was revealed that her bodyguard had applied for a concealed carry permit. So, she fired the bodyguard, right? Of course not. Even though she once stated that guns should be outlawed and gun owners should go to prison, she claimed that it was ok for him to carry a gun because she and her children needed protection. That sort of thing should be infuriating to anyone, regardless of which side of the gun control issue you take.
So, the format's just fine when Rosie's there, but a problem when she's not?Lazario wrote:I know what you mean. I didn't even respect the View until Rosie came on. Now she's leaving. Hopefully, the other women won't let Rosie leaving affect the great new material Rosie brought to the show in the most recent months / weeks. To be fair, I think the format is the problem, not the hosts. Most of the hosts, anyway.![]()
Wow. Did I just read that here?2099net wrote:Well, I'm sorry you prefer "silly crushes" and "duets" to debate (regardless of if what she debated was right or wrong). Where do you get these beliefs from. It has been proven over and over that it could not have happened. Where are the facts that you base your beliefs on?Despite the fact that I'm not a Rosie fan, I do happen to agree with her in regards to the Bush administration, and with regard to WTC 7 being imploded. That's been proven elsewhere.
There are certain similarities. Have you ever listen to Pat Robertson's rants? Religious extremism is usually pretty much the same, no matter what religion is involved. It's usually particularly disdainful in any of the abrahamic monotheistic faiths.dvdjunkie wrote:1. Rosie compared "radical" Christians to Muslim Terrorists.
This is obviously an extreme viewpoint. Judges (or politicians) who happen to be catholic shouldn't allow their faith in influence their public service, though. Canada is a good example of a country in which many of our politicians are Catholic. This, however, didn't stop many of them from voting in favour of things like abortion and, more recently, same-sex marriage; despite the condemnation from the Vatican. A good public servant should know how to seperate their religious values from real-world values.dvdjunkie wrote:2. Announced that NO American Catholic should be allowed to be a Judge because of the Chursh's doctrine on abortion.
She wouldn't be the first. Treason might be a bit out there, but I don't believe Bush has the best interests of your country at heart. His entire administration has been one farce after another.dvdjunkie wrote:3. Openly accused President Bush of committing treason.
Bill, I know that you addressed this to Lazario, and I am sure that he will come to answer your questions. However, I'd like to give my answers to your questions.dvdjunkie wrote:

I'm weird, see. I listen to actual demolitions experts who know this kind of thing, rather than politicians.dvdjunkie wrote:Papibear wrote:

Notice how, if someone's belief is different from yours, you relegate them to "insane" status (are you a licensed psychiatrist, sir? Can you make such a diagnosis?). Does that work both ways? If I disagree with you, do I get to label you insane as well?dvdjunkie wrote:So here are three things that Ms. O'Donnell has said that I would like you to comment on and offer what you think would be the solution:
1. Rosie compared "radical" Christians to Muslim Terrorists.
2. Announced that NO American Catholic should be allowed to be a Judge because of the Chursh's doctrine on abortion.
3. Openly accused President Bush of committing treason.
Do these sound like a sane person's rants?
I think I do, tooxxhplinkxx wrote:I think I've got a crush on Lazario.
Yeah- she took it and made it her own. But it's been a lot more intelligent since she's been there.PapiBear wrote:So, the format's just fine when Rosie's there
Hey, you got something against Koosh balls?PapiBear wrote:Exactly what "new material" did Rosie bring to the show? Koosh balls?

And again, I think Rosie was nice but just loud before she chose to start saying something with that voice. Now she's quite endearing. Sure she might insult anyone of us who pass her by- but that's part of her charm. Just enjoy the ride, while it lasts.PapiBear wrote:I used to like Rosie (somewhat) until I found out what she was really like as a person.
