Good riddence to bad movies.
There isn't a single disney sequel, with the exception of the Rescuers Down Under, that I've enjoyed.

What about Fantasia's sequel: Fantasia 2000?
Kelvin said he did not count Fantasia 2000 or Rescuers Down Under because they were from feature animation.

And what do you base this on aside from your wish? If you had bothered to read the article, more is going to be produced just not sequels.

To me, it's worth putting up with the bad ones when you sometimes get fantastic stuff like Bambi 2 and Cinderella 3. Plus, many are good, though not great. It's kinda dumb to just call all sequels bad (or good) though. Every film should be judged on an individual basis. Many sequel haters haven't even seen but one or two. Some haven't seen any at all.
Anyway, because of the money that can be made off these, I don't think it will truly be the end. More like a break. In fact, I'll be surprised if we don't get sequels of the Frog Princess and Rapunzel. Maybe even Enchanted. They're probably just waiting till they have some fresh princesses to work with. I mean, why do you think we're getting a new crop of princesses! Three coming off the assembling line! They're money, money, money! I don't mind, because princesses are hot,

, but I hope they have put enough heart and work into each of them.
What we likely WILL be getting more of are these franchise films, like the Faeries stuff. It's really just a new kind of sequel, or prequel, or whatever. Possibly something that will make us wish for the days of the sequels again. These Bratz and Barbie DVDs are what's selling now, so now they're switching to that. When people are clamoring for sequels again, we'll probably start getting those again... It all comes back around...

I guess, as I'm such a huge Princess fan, I'm lucky as I have the upcoming Enchanted Tales volumes which will feature each Disney Princess in turn. And the Princess Stories DVD's etc.
Its sad for the others though

that what i thougth too,the only sequal i like is cinderella III (the little mermaid II is the worst movie ever, ariel is a mother? that not like her),they are cheap and i ignore them (exept cinderelal III) but it's still nice new stuff about the chacters, take snow white or slepiing beauty-there's nothing new with those films.
altougth i think it's not true becuase disney will do anything to make money.

Are you sure this is what I wish for? You seem to know everything about me better than I do. Anyway, how you define the term "sequel"? Is a sequel only a full-length animated feature? I don't really think so. Aurora's new story IS a sequel, just a short one. The same goes for Jasmine's and Belle's new stories. So, to me, more sequels ARE going to be produced because these, to me, are sequels.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed. The sequels have been the only place for us to see new Disney 2D animation for a long time, and while some of them are poor (mainly the recycled TV stuff), many have been entertaining, if not classics. For a line that gave us The Lion King II, Bambi II, BATB: The Enchanted Christmas and Cinderella III - it's annoying when so many people just dismiss them as being rubbish. If you don't like the idea of sequels, fair enough, don't watch them. But the truth is, the sequels had come on a long way since their original introduction, especially in the quality of the animation.
I'd suspect the Princess Enchanted Tales line is safe, as a franchise, like Fairies, and to be fair, aside from Aurora and Snow White, most of the Princesses have had a sequel or two now (Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella) - and I'm quite happy with the idea of their adventures continuing in this form.
I think in many ways, it's probably more a fact that the sequels are coming to a natural end - the fact that things like Dumbo and Aristocats have been cancelled notwithstanding.
I do think that if someone comes up with a worthy story idea for a sequel though, there's no reason to think they won't do it.

I too have enjoyed the majority of the DTVs and I'm sad to see them go seeing as it was a last stand for 2D animation there for awhile and I'm so tired of CGI animated movies, I long for the quality in hand drawn movies and it seems to be a dying art.
So I take it that there will still be DTVs but in the form of The Princess line and francise stuff like the Faieres?

Well, it looks like BVHE's metaphoric drinking binge (so to speak) has come to an end; now it's time for it to endure a metaphoric hangover, where everyone in the video-only department raise cain over their movie series being a source of supreme revenue.

hey think about this:
They never did a Snow White 2
or a Sleeping Beauty 2
Or a Dumbo 2
Or Pinocchio 2
I own a few of the "cheapquels" including Cinderella 2 and 3, 101 Dalmatians 2, and Lady and the Tramp 2. My niece who LOVES Cinderella liked the cinderella dvds & my eldest niece and nephew watched L&TT2 and liked it.
And while it added some historical inaccurate information, Pocahontas 2 DID have her end up with the historical Pocahontas' husband (John Rolfe).

Then this has to be the longest running April Fool's joke known to mankind because it's been known since late last year that the DTV sequels were stopping.

Well, even some April Fool's things are a bit long-winded, aren't they? Are you saying that the sequels will never come to an end?
