Well if you average it out (~350 DVDs over ~5 years), I get 70 a year. However, I only got about 5 that first year and get more all the time... I don't exactly "buy" them all, though, as some are free. I'm guessing I probably got somewhere around 100ish in 2004, maybe a little more.

That is hard to estimate. It all depends on how many DVD's come out that are worth buying. Sometimes I spend a hundred dollars a week on DVD's and other times I may only spend a hundred dollars a month. Like this month, for instance, March 1st, it will be Bambi and Flight of the Phoenix, and on March 8 it will be Ladder 49 and March 15th, of course, it will The Incredibles. Last year I estimate that I spent in excess of $4,000 for DVD's at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Border's Books. I go where the sale is and here in the midwest we have lots of stores to choose from.
Movies I don't buy include anything with Hilary Duff, or those annoying Olsen twins. I don't get near any disc that has the name Britney Spears on it or Ashley Simpson or for that matter those two ugly mattress-backs from The Simple Life.
I have a lot better taste than that to waste my hard-earned money on those people.
"Raise Your Voice" has to be the worst movie ever made, even worse than the "From Justin to Kelly" piece of garbage a few years ago.
I do buy quality films and films that I have seen at least twice in a movie theater. I go to the movies at least three times a week or more depending on how many new releases come out.

In the last 6 months I doubled my collection so 100 in six months and the six months prior, probably 15.

Man, I don't even want to think about it! I'm on a very limited income, and so I'm not buying much these days. Over the past couple of years I've picked up almost everything I've ever wanted anyway (at least from what's available), so I basically look at the new releases and decide from there. I'm guessing that we have over 200 sets at this point. I'm running out of storage space! How do I even find the time to watch so many?
