There was a promo for Aladdin in IMAX theaters in front of TLK last Christmas. I'm not sure if advertising it a year in advance will keep it in the public consciousness, but certainly they hope to bring back the same people who went to see The Lion King on the big big screen last fall. It was really just part of the "Friend Like Me" sequence. I'm sure we'll see plenty of promos on next year's SEs and such.

On Snow White, they mentioned Beauty and the Beast as the next Platinum release on the insert, but didn't include a preview of it on the DVD. They appear to be doing the same with Lion King & Aladdin. At least we know it's coming.

Yes! You are right!
I forgot about that! They still should advertise the release to IMAX though because they did do that with The Lion King! It got more people hyped up for the DVD release! I am sure we will see it on the other SE releases though!

umm...I'd be VERY upset if this were indeed true.
Assuming it's not, you're grounded for the next 12 years.
No TV or oxygen for you!

Since the IMAX release of Aladdin is now TBA, I seriously doubt we'll get a trailer for that on the front of any DVD until it's taken care of. It was slated for Xmas Day 2003, but they're releasing Young Black Stallion on IMAX that day and they won't be stupid enough to put two of their movies up against each other on the same day, especially on the extremely limited release IMAX, where there are rarely multiple screens and thus less showtimes per day.
Recently I've taken to calling my local IMAX ever now and then to see if they've got any news on Aladdin and if my memory serves me correctly the last time I called they said January 2004, though I'm not posotice. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything.

Is this real? I hope not... Oh, man, I can't wait for those anymore... And what TBD means? To Be Delayed? Please Disney, don't do that!!!!

According to the
IMAX website,
Aladdin is listed as simply "2004".
And last I checked, Poca and Alice were the two SEs coming on January 27th, and Lilo and MP were the two to be released later in 2004. I
really hope Disney isn't switching things around at the last minute
again...

Can you check to see if there are any French captions or subtitles? None of the reviews of the Region 1 DVD mentioned them. Thanks.
Don't forget to turn the volume up when you listen to the EHT 5.1 track.

Sure, no problem. You know what? The back of the Denmark DVD case mentions Rafiki and Nala. I'm hoping that the back of the Region 1 case also mentions the two.

I'm also wondering if The Lion King DVD has trailers for the Imax version of Aladdin. Beauty and The Beast has a trailer for The Lion King Imax release.

I just re-read DVDFile.com's review. They say:
Only English captions encoded as subtitles and true Closed Captioning are included
Oh well. Looks like I'll heave to listen really closely to the French audio track to understand what everyone is saying. They also say that the DVD has a Spanish 5.1 surround dub. Other reviews don't mention a Spanish 5.1 track. I'm confused again.

Notice how they put "Much much more..." under more to do. That's just covering up the fact that they're so embarrassed about how actually very little there will be.

Thanks Luke.

Do I see four proof of purchase tabs? Odd. Most DVDs have two.
