To me it feels like people have already forgotten about Jungle Cubs! The people around me though still remember 'Gummi Bears', an 80's classic to me and many others. Guess you have to be an 80's child. :)
Yes I know I'm young, but still I have seen episodes of Goof Troop, DuckTales, Chip N Dale, Darkwing Duck and Tale Spin before and remember them quite well. However I'm surprised I haven't seen at least 1 episode of this show, considering it wasn't made TOO long before all the other shows.

Even my sister(who was born in 1981) doesn't remember this show, but remembers pretty much all the others. Oh well, it doesn't really matter, I'm sure Disney will sell it eventually.

As for Jungle Cubs, it's not that they don't remember it, it's that they don't want to remember it! :P

About Jungle Cubs i didn't like that show at all even though i was born in 84. As for the original subject title i would like to see Gummi Bears out, and Talespin maybe in time for a presumably junglebook platinum edition if ones due out. Darkwing Duck i thought it was cool but not as good as Ducktales, Chip N Dale or the others on the Disney Afternoon Block.

It's too bad they didn't release the Aladdin television series to tie in with the Platinum Edition of Aladdin.

You know, this really bothers me! I hate when people say, "Without this show/moive, we wouldn't even have your show/movie"! Just because 1 came before the other doesn't mean it's better! That's like saying Hitler was a better human being than Pope John Paul the IInd because he was born before him!
jamminjake245 wrote:-- atleast for a while and if so it would have had that crappy late 90's stuff.
Ouch! Now I admit that the older show like DuckTales and Darkwing Duck were the best, there were some great shows! Recess was an awesome show while it lasted. If the Timon and Pumbaa show also counts, than crap is definitely not a word you would use! :D

As for season sets go, I'm also predicting Darkwing and Tale Spin are next!
I hope you are kidding! I still stand by my statement. Gummi Bears paved the way for future shows. Disney took a risk by putting it on the air.

I don't think it was much of a risk. It had the Disney name attached. I think, more than anything Disney didn't want to "dilute" their beloved characters by having them on TV so created original characters for their initial projects, as they were unsure what the public's response would be.

I already have the Gummi Bears on DVD. Every episode (I bought it off of Ebay) I hope that they will make either the Aladdin or Lilo and Stitch on DVD next.

I have some of the episodes on CD (recorded off Disney channel), but the quality is terrible. I'd love for Disney to make an official release of this awesome old series.

And on the next animated TV boxset, Disney, include some extras and remaster the video!

I have the complete series on DVD. Because I am bored I am actually going to list all the complete Disney cartoons I have! lol
Gummi Bears
Ducktales
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
Talespin
Hercules
Goof Troop
Quack Pack
The Legend of Tarzan
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Lloyd In Space

I think that Hercules was one of the cheaper and overall worse animated series Disney has made. And I've never seen 'The Legend Of Tarzan.' When did that air?

In 2001 on UPN. It was intended for Toon Disney's first original show, but for some reason it didn't. It was a show that consisted of 39 episodes, excelent animation, script, over all show. In fact it is one of the best! It is on Toon Disney frequently throughout the day. In fact the next showing is at 8:00 A.M and 1:00 - 3:00 P.M tomorrow.

Small bump, yeah I know, but I wanted to answer jamminjake's question:
jamminjake245 wrote: I hope you are kidding! I still stand by my statement. Gummi Bears paved the way for future shows. Disney took a risk by putting it on the air.
Well when you say, "I hope your kidding", if you're referring to my thought that Darkwing Duck and Tale Spin will be next, then no I'm not kidding! Gummi Bears may have paved the way for future shows, the other 2 shows were much more popular and are asked to be put on DVD much more than GB, so that's why I think they are next!

If your referring to my thought Gummi Bears didn't pave the way of future, well I never said it didn't. I just don't like when shows/movies are often looked at their age instead of the quality of it! That being said, I've never seen GB, so I can't comment about the show, but my point was that saying it was older than all the other shows, doesn't make it a better show. That Pope John Paul/Hitler comment was just a way to make you understand where I was coming from, even if it was a really bad comparrison. :)

WHY no Gummis??

So Disney has released DuckTales, RR, GoofTroop, and, of ALL things, Quack Pack. So WHY not Gummi Bears? Is there a reason? Will it ever come out?

Woah, I had this weird dream last night that I came to the site and it said "Gummi Bears Volume 1" and it has 27 episodes, plus bumpers, and commercials. Then I checked the site and nearly cried when it wasn't there.:(

There's still hope! If Ducktales went on DVD, then Gummi Bears will. I bet they're just trying to restore the picture that's why! ;)

I mean, look how long it took for TMNT to get on DVD (then again, that's not Disney. :p)

Been there.

Yeah I know. I can actually still picture what it looked like:
December, 7, 2005 - Disney has announced the first volume of Gummi Bears for a release date of March, 27, 2005 with a MSRP of $34.99. Also expected on that day are The Wuzzles: The Complete Series on two DVDs. We will have more information to post once Disney makes it avaible.

Tsk, tsk, tsk wouldn't that have been GREAT to read?!

It's not normally like me to post a reply because everyone usually either totally ignores me or flames me, but I figured since SO many of you out there actually feel the same way I do about Disney's GRANDEST mistake in not releasing the FIRST weekly animated TV show in the 80's, I would go ahead and throw my 2 cents worth in... :P

I remember as if it were yesterday when I first saw the show on NBC. I had just recovered from both spending my 10th birthday at Disney World and seeing Black Cauldron in the theater. I was not expecting another Disney thrill so soon, but when I saw the Gummi Bears, I was hooked for life! It was and still is the best cartoon series I've ever seen! :D

I just wish the people at Disney cared enough to release their best shows on DVD for true Disney fans like me...

Or maybe they could at least bring them back to Toon Disney... :?
