Williams was pretty good in Lost in Space (which I do have the DVDs for), though I don't think I've ever seen him as Zorro.
Hi, Scott. It did seem like I had moved into the Archives at times, didn't it? Even when I went to work at Warner Bros., as Disney gave me a parking pass for the lot. I spent most of my lunch hours there for several years while working on the book.scottwolf wrote:Hi Bill,
I have two memories of you. Seeing you almost any time I ever went into the archives and the Happiest Millionaire Party. Wasn't that at your house? That sure was fun.
I'm looking forward to the new "Your host..." DVD set. Any idea if they will still edit the 10th Anniversary or are they going to be able to release it uncut now? I love that but like the Tiki Room section is like running fingernails on a blackboard to me because I know that episode so well.
Hope all is well with you!

Boy, are you in for a treat then. Guy simply WAS and IS Zorro. His Lost in Space part pales in comparison.TM2-Megatron wrote:Williams was pretty good in Lost in Space (which I do have the DVDs for), though I don't think I've ever seen him as Zorro.
I understand how you feel about the double dipping, but I prefer to look at this set from the "half full" point of view instead of "half empty". I'm also very disappointed in the double dipping, but I also want both the Kodak 1959 Disneyland program and the Fourth Anniversary Show on DVD. I doubt that either will show up in a future Disney DVD collection. Plus I expect some of the extras to be entertaining / informative.ohmahaaha wrote:Well ... I am actually VERY disappointed and let down about the contents of "Your Host ..." because of the amount of previously released material.
Up to now I've tolerated the "double dips" because they've been just a handful of shorts, but since I already have the "Disneyland" Treasure from Wave 1 AND I have the "Darby O'Gill" DVD, that makes one full half of this Treasure a double dip, less whatever bonus features there might be.
I now call into question the decision to make this a Treasure choice - I think a better choice would be to include Disneyland or Disneyworld themed shows other than those included in the "Disneyland" Treasure from the first wave.
I'm going to have to pass on this one - too bad. I'm sure I'd enjoy the other 2 shows, but I'm not going to buy a whole set, half of which I already own.
I don't think I'm looking at this set as "half empty." I VERY MUCH enjoyed "Disneyland 10th" and "I Captured the King;" in fact, I was prepared for the inclusion of "I Captured the King," knowing that it perfectly fit the profile of the Treasure set's theme .... where I draw the line is the inclusion of a full hour-long show that was already included in a previous Treasure set. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I can see where they might want the "Leprechaun" to be made available to those people who did not buy the "Darby O'Gill" DVD, but if they thought there were people who did not buy the earlier "Disneyland" Treasure, why not just re-release that whole Treasure?!? Every show on that Treasure set would also qualify for the "Your Host" theme, and I think we really need to make our feelings known to Disney about something like this. And, I remember I purchased both "Disneyland" and "Darby O'Gill" thinking thae contents of those would "never be seen on a future DVD" as well.jebsdad wrote:I understand how you feel about the double dipping, but I prefer to look at this set from the "half full" point of view instead of "half empty". I understand your feelings and agree with them. I also feel including the Disneyland 10th is unfair, and felt the same way as you about "Leprechaun" being included. Whatever contents of this set that are not double dipped are still worth the money to me. I wish there would be some press release or something saying what the status of the Treasures Wave 6 is.ohmahaaha wrote:I don't think I'm looking at this set as "half empty." I think Disney is being kind of unfair to those of us who been loyal customers.
Yes ... it seems unlikely that they would have 8 2-discers coming out the same day, doesn't it? So I'd say that it was more than likely that at least one of the series will be delayed beyond that December date.jebsdad wrote:I wish there would be some press release or something saying what the status of the Treasures Wave 6 is.
