I like it, but I don't.
It's busy, filled with all the characters..which is good (in a way) because the other cover for the Limited Issue was a bit plain.
I also like how they balanced the colors putting sharp lighting on Lady & Tramp and more contrast (or less lighting) on the other characters. It really draws you to the main characters.
But I don't think that's a beautiful or nice picture of Lady. I'd like to see more of her face, rather than her side. Afterall, her name does come first in the title.

Beautiful cover! My only complaint... and it's a very minor one... is that it doesn't quite match up with the previous Platinum covers... but neither does Aladdin. It's definitely one of my favorite Platinum covers. Can't wait for this movie on DVD!!!!

More than twenty posts and only two or so on the supplements / presentation announced? I think Disney may be able to get by just releasing DVD slipcovers with nothing inside!

The only thing I mind is the Platinum banner; but of course this will change with time.
I'm glad that Disney didn't intend to say "First time ever on DVD". But this is what I'll do: move the "New 2 Disc Edition" at the bottom and add the "Platinum" on top as usual.
Because, frankly... there's no need for the "limited time" since we ALL know that. And even people that aren't as fans as us by now should realize that.

But you see Luke, the title is "Lady and the Tramp Artwork"...and we don't like to get:
But since we're going to get off topic...what's up with this?:
"1.33:1 pan and scan and 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen"... I'm confused on that part, so can someone please explain.
Is that the trend now..to always (or almost always) have a music video as a bonus feature? But I like deleted scenes. Those are fun to watch.
I'll save my opinion for the PR.

I love the cover. Will Lady and the Tramp be getting a giftset? This is my favorite Disney film and I'm hopining they are giving it a giftset. Will it have a commentary track? I'm glad Disney is finaly including a storyboard mode with one of there own fims.

The logo for Lady and the Tramp does look a little wierd. Still a nice cover. Looking forward to this release.

Oh Luke you are so right about the slipcovers. I just love them. I think also that the cover is ok. Not the best.

Well IMO the cover is OK. It could have been better, but likewise it could have been a lot worse!
More important to me is the features. If it is true that the pan and scan version will be presented as opposed to the original academy ratio versionn, i think that is very sad news. Although it is possible this could all be changed.
I'm really hoping that the section from "A Story of Dogs" regarding the making of LatT will be featured on this set.

I love it but Tony looks a tad werid and why is Peg (is that her name?) on the cover?

While i hope Poppins#1 is right and the 4:3 is the true Academy version and "pan/scan" is just a Marketing "typo", i'm actually more worried about the "2.35 anamorphic widescreen" blurb which would mean we're yet again getting a cropped version of the 2.55 negative. The widescreen version being the REAL version of the film (since the Academy is in a sense a safety reformating of the Scope) that would be the real tragedy.
Hopefully 2.35 is just another typo too. A 5 looks very similar to a 3
Krystal the answer to your question is on UD. Maybe i'll bump the thread into Gen Discussions if people are interested on it after they calm down about the slipcovers

I think the cover art is wonderful. Most of us nitpicky fans (myself included) sometimes forget Platinums are supposed to appeal for everyone, so a cover art has to get in lots of main characters. Considering that logic, I think the cover art works in the best way possible. My favourite Platinum one so far (of the R1 releases).
I am VERY excited about the bonus features. This was my first Disney video ever so this movie is very special for me. The widescreen and fullscreen offered is a great option, but I hope it doesn't come at the expense of loosing a commentary track (as it seems with Cinderella

). I hope the making-of will be more than just the standard 40 minute length. I want an in-depth, non-fluff feature!
That's my rant until the press release (very exciting time for us fans isn't it?).
I Love This Movie!

In conjunction with my Little Mermaid Video this Movie also blew up when I was a kid (and like Little Mermaid I had to spend almost all of last year trying to find it again on Video after my second copies of the two found their way to my bin). I found it so amazing that both films that I absolutly adored as a kid (Lady and the Tramp and Little Mermaid) were coming out in the same year. I quite like this cover as it has more in it then the previous ones. The thing I've noticed about every release since it first came out on Video is that the image that is always used is Lady and the Tramp at the table eating the strand of spegetti. I personally perfer the image from this scene that was used on the pervious release rather than this one but the cover is still absoultly amazing. I love Si and Am on the logo and the addition of Peg (did you know Peggy Lee not only played Peg but also Darling and Si and Am- just thought I'd piont it out). I think the reason she's there is because, well for one thing, she gets like the coolest song in the movie and kids do remember her even through she's only there for a short time so I'm glad she finally made it to the cover. I quite like the idea of more than just the two main characters been included on the cover art and can't wait to see what the discs and menus are going to look like. I know next year I will be happier than I ever have been before because at last after all this time I'll have my two favourite Disney movies on DVD and this time I'll ensure my copies last forever (DVD is so much better than Video).

I'm not so sure about that, deathie mouse. According to the internet movie database Lady and the Tramp was released in CinemasScope and mono sound. It also states that the aspect ratio is 2.35:1 which would be correct since magnetic stereo was not used.

I like it.
I didnt like the 'limited issue' cover i found it to be quite boring, and to plain. So i was hoping we'd get something a little busier with the platinum cover. Roll on March!
