Sorry, minor typo.
THIS should work.
And I love the cover! Ariel looks a little chubby though, but I think that's what they were going for, rather than the slender Ariel we saw in the original.

Gosh, how clever! I wish Triton's wife was Amphitrite and not Athena!

Ariel is very off-model in the cover. I can't believe anyone is saying the opposite. But I have no doubt they will improve it.

Excuse me but...where did that come from? Why Amphitrite?

Why not Aquattica?.

In mythology, Amphitrite was the goddess of the sea!

Amphitrite was also one of Posiedons wives...she's most admired for her love and loyalty to her husband even though he was a cheat lol. It's hard to look at the story of The Little Mermaid, involved with Greek mythology though...so I wish Ariel's mother was named something else...more original unlike Athena or Amphitrite...maybe like Arianna or something...since in A name.
I hope they tweak Ariel's face more on the cover...doesn't look like her at all to me. And I agree XxphlinkxX I hope they put the rest of the sisters on the back...it's just not fair lol.

TOO LATE because King Triton's name comes from a Greek god who was the son of Poseidon, god of the sea and...Amphitrite, goddess of the sea.
Sorry
Old Fish Tale, in the TV series, Triton's grandfather was Neptune, and in the musical, his father is Poseidon. Disney won't let him marry his mother, Amphitrite.

My English class just did a project on Greek mythology, and the kid in my class who did Poseidon said his son was Triton. I do like the sound of it, though. Too bad it'd be like, incest.

Yeah, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Triton in Disney's story came from Poseidon, it wouldn't really match the time frame considering the story of The Little Mermaid(not only Disney's but Andersons aswell) takes place no where near(in time and location) Ancient Greece. Maybe...if like...King Triton was Poseidons er Neptunes son like...thousands of years down the road lol...and it just so happens that Athena was named after The Goddess Athena...
In Greek Mythology Athena is actually one of Zeus's daughters, he ate the titan that was pregnant with Athena, however, when Athena was born she bursed through his forehead and thats why she's considered his Daughter(yeah i know, makes like no sense lol). Now Poseidon is Zeus brother, so it would be like Athena marrying her cousin (King Triton in this case) and isn't that kinda gross? Which leads me to believe that they randomly pulled the name Athena to be the name of Ariel's mother. All in all, not really making sense that this Little Mermaid story relates to Greek Mythology in anyway, which back a reason that Triton is not Poseidons son in the case of Disney's The Little Mermaid at all.

I don't seriously think the writers intended the woman to be named Athena as in
the Athena, because she wouldn't be anywhere near the sea anyway.

The only interesting bit is that you could look at Ursula and Triton as almost a "battle of the gods," which makes it sound so much more classic and dramatic. It would explain the trident's existence as well. Still, I can understand why it might be weird
for some. Also, I think they definitely had to keep the incest out of it (though if the gods hadn't committed incest in the myths, there wouldn't have
been any of them).
I tend to think
TLM is tinged by Greek Mythology, but comes off a little more Biblical (or simply as just a film to those who would rather not interpret anything).

Greek mythology is full of adultery. Zeus, Hera, and many other gods and goddess slept with other deities and humans as well. Hercules of course was the result of one of Zeus's forays with a human woman and when he was born Hera sent snakes down to kill him and baby Hercules killed the snakes. Disney's Hercules retain some of that part of the myth, but Hera is made off like his biological mother and a loving mother. In reality, she hated Hercules

Am I the only one who feels that this one is gonna end on a more bittersweet note, rather than happy and fulfilling like the other two? I mean, sure- Triton will probably allow music again, but Ariel is still going to have to love that world above, and what about the eels? Shouldn't at least two escape, and become Flotsam and Jetsam?
About the music box- and I know some of you don't want to think about it this way, but what if Triton destroys it, where only the top part is still intact, in which he makes Melody's locket? I mean, look at Ariel and Triton's face when he gives it to her. You can tell it's not just something he bought- there's some kind of significance to it.

About the music box - I think thats a really neat idea. It obviously holds a lot of significance in this movie; it would be nice if it was continued through.
And yes, I also agree that I think it will involve a bittersweet ending. I feel it will end with a massive concert being planned .. .. .. which we all know Ariel will not attend!

Am I the only person here who HATES this cover ? It's so overcrowded with characters And the "Every story has..." at the top Makes it look more like a promotional insert than cover art. Ariel looks strange also... Hope they fix it, the only thing I like about it is the colour scheme.

I don't hate the cover either, though it's certainly not great. I've just become so used to overcrowded, crappy covers that at least this isn't downright horrible. I also think the only character on the cover who's drastically off-model is Triton (I would say the sisters as well, but they've been altered from the original film anyway). I don't consider Ariel off-model, as she's supposed to be younger and "thicker" with baby fat. The only problem with her, and the same goes for the Tinkerbell Movie's cover, is that her neck is non-existent.
Overall, it's passable. The original movie's Platinum cover wasn't that good either, so what can we honestly expect from its [second] sequel?

Well, maybe she"ll realize that there are good humans and bad humans? (Like in the series,in the epsiode Thingamajjiger that she sees that Eric free the dolphin?).
Defitnly no about the music box-There's no Little Mermaid canon,if they ignored the series then I"m sure that they"ll ignore Little Mermaid II.
And I think that the cover is perfact
