That's great! I like him. He's funny, but not in a "let's all laugh at him because he's stupid and says ridiculous things" kind of way like the last one.

While some are excited about the #7 debut for the JONAS L.A. soundtrack, those looking closely at the numbers can’t help but think how much gas is left in the tank? According to all key indicators the group is performing at levels comparable to where they were at in 2007. Sales of the long awaited soundtrack barely cracked 33,000. Based on that performance, you can’t help but wonder if the bros made a mistake in aligning with Disney for a Camp Rock 2 branded tour. Keep in mind it was just six months ago that the solo effort of Nick Jonas with minimal Disney promotion debuted at #3 with over 82,000 in sales.
(There's a graph on the site illustrating the point.)

That makes me sad. It just shows that people don't like to see a clean act for too long after the novelty of it all finishes. Camp Rock 2 tour is kind of a mistake though; not saying they should dirty themselves up but they should show maturity.

I think The Jonas Brothers would still be popular today if they were a band only. I think the Camp Rock movies and having their own TV show just ruined them.

Apparently I'm going to have to see them. The tickets only cost $10 though. My niece will be happy.

It makes me sad, too. But, there are always clean acts...I mean, people like acts to be clean more than not (look what happened to Britney, Lindsay, etc.). I think they'll still be playing their own music on the Camp Rock 2 tour, in addition to CR/CR2 songs. It really doesn't seem that much different from your average JB/Demi tour.

They definitely are still very popular. All 3 of the guys had acted when they were younger, so it's not like acting is a new thing for them (Kevin had done commercials, but Joe and Nick had done stage work). But I do wonder about what if they hadn't gone the acting route. Although I like the CR movies and I like their TV show. I thought I have had is: I wonder if they didn't release a soundtrack to the first season of their TV show because of songs like "Pizza Girl"; people who didn't know anything about the show might think that a song like that is an average JB song, thus losing their credibility? Just a thought.

Dave, it's okay to admit that you just want to see JB. Don't throw your niece into the conversation as an excuse. :p

I think Christina might be headed down that same road. If she doesn't learn to let go of the fact that Lady Gaga is more famous than she was. Then, I think 'junkie is still concerned that she has a death fixation.

Clean acts for the most part stay as popular as they ever were. It's the fans who grow up. You can only listen to music that doesn't signify (let alone deal with) anything below the waste, under the skin, or above the eyebrows for a short amount of time. Whereas, even kids can enjoy music that isn't defined by an underaged fanbase. Clean acts are defined by their cleanliness whereas you can use many terms to describe other performers / artists.

T2 Exclusive: Hit or Miss? Yesterday the Camp Rock 2 Tour had a dress rehearsal and here’s a sneak peak at the set list (below). After the success of The Burning Up Tour starring the Jonas Brothers and new comer Demi Lovato in 2008, it’s somewhat disappointing seeing them saddled with a subpar show produced by Disney to pay the bills. There’s no doubt both performers will put on an amazing show, but you can bet the fans would’ve rather seen the two performing their own music. In fact, more than 1/2 of the Jonas Brothers set includes songs that didn’t come from their catalog. One other obvious tidbit is that after flexing their muscles to prove that they were older and more mature, the edgier songs Poison Ivy and Video Girl have been removed from the Jonas Brothers set list.

Camp Rock Set (No Jonas Brothers or Demi Lovato)
1. Start the Party
2. Fire
3. We Rock

Demi Lovato Set
1. Get Back
2. La La Land
3. Remember December
4. Catch Me
5. Don’t Forget
6. Got Dynamite
7. Here We Go Again

Demi Lovato / Camp Rock 2 Set
1. Brand New Day
2. Can’t Back Down
3. It’s Not Too Late
4. It’s On

Jonas Brothers Set
1. Feelin Alive*
2. Hold On
3. Year 3000
4. Play My Music*
5. Heart & Soul*
6. Introducing Me*
7. Gotta Find You*
8. This Is Me w/ Demi Lovato*
9 Wouldn’t Change A Thing w/ Demi Lovato*
10. LA Baby*
11. Cover Song: Drive My Car
12. Paranoid
13. Who I Am
14. Fly With Me
15. When You Look Me In The Eyes
16. Lovebug
17. Please Be Mine
18. This Is Our Song w/ Camp Rock “Friends”*
19. Heart and Soul w/ Camp Rock “Friends”*
20. S.O.S.
21. Burnin’ Up

*Songs that are part of a Disney Production

I don't think I'd be able to compose myself long enough to hold it against anyone. That thing is indescribable. There aren't words. It's beyond the realm of sanity, and it's such a long way away from music. It's senseless horror in the form of a video clip. And even those words don't come close to capturing the tragedy and the carnage. It's all that plus heresy, cheap cannibalism, ... I can't go on. I am not yet sure I actually believe it. Were what is obviously discernible from that link true, it would be the entertainment industry's version of a global holocaust.

I tried. Even those thoughts are understatements.

You can hold it against me, and I've liked a lot of Disneymania songs, but I love it. I don't get your frustration, Laz. :? :)

Wow, that's bad. For the first 15-20 seconds it doesn't even sound like the song it's covering. It is amusing though to think of how they actually tried to make a cabaret-ish villian song (sung by a half drag queen squid creature) sound like some "hard core" boyish rock tune.

I wonder what Ashman would think? :P
