Seriously though, this trailer is a definite improvement. Now Disney, I doubt you're reading this, but whoever it is in Japan putting together these trailers, these are the guys you need to hire!

If the former, please let me re-phrase. I think Disney has a lot on their plate right now concerning Frozen. I don't think they have the time to learn how the Japanese (or any country, really) make trailers. And even if they did, I don't think Disney is entirely comfortable with presenting Frozen as a story about sisters/princesses. As wonderful as a more "mature" marketing would be, I am 90% sure Disney in the U.S. will market Frozen the same way that Tangled was marketed: in a Dreamworks-esque style.

Let me explain. The Japanese trailers are made by a division of Disney (Disney Japan) in a way that fits the market best and to make sure the movie makes a maximum profit over there. Disney has no doubt thoroughly researched what works well for the Japanese market, which is very different from the US or Europe.

Disney Japan is not operating outside of the Walt Disney Company. They're not outsourcing their distribution in Japan. I'm not sure what gave you the idea that anyone at Disney in the US is unaware of how their films are marketed in Japan?
