Probably not, considering the DVD is still out. But they might release the sequel.
(By the way, nice signature! I love that movie.

I can't wait to get the DVD. I have DVD bootleg of the film from the "Gold Classic" series, I have to get rid of it to make way for another copy. It was originally scheduled for September of this year, but it pushed back to next month which is earlier to make way for "Dumbo" which will also be coming out in September.

Do we actually have confirmation that this will be released on June 7? There isn't even a preorder page on Amazon yet, and that is very strange for a title coming out in only a month. The official Disney webpage where this date was seen is not working (or at best working intermittently from some reports). The Disney Movie Club is teasing an exclusive preview for members on June 7 and the artwork hints at The Fox and the Hound. I suspect that it will be released only through the DMC on June 7, and it will receive a general release later, maybe months later. I don't recall what titles have received this treatment in the past, but I know they've done that before with DMC.

Yeah, it seems unlikely that June 7 is the release date now that the Disney page has been pulled down and there is no pre-order up at Amazon, as you mentioned. I think the rumor now is that the title will only be available through DMC on June 7, but that the rest of us will have to wait (hopefully not until September, as originally advertised).
If that is the case, the summer months are looking thin for Disney releases.

Except for the Ratatouille and WALL-E combo pack re-releases on July 5, there isn't anything on the horizon until September!

Release date is listed as August 9 now...
First September, then June, now August! Let's hope this doesn't turn into another Dumbo.

Did they cram enough words on the cover? Looks like a tacky ad.

I took off the awful sequel title. Ugh, why can't they issue a separate release with just the first film???!!!!

Because they will be on the same disc. They won't have two separate discs produced just so that people will have the first movie on one disc.

I disagree. It's better that way because the words are next to the species' heads.

I think Copper's the one reading it upside-down.
But seriously, I just went the same direction Disney did for Bambi and Lion King.

That is so stupid, I'm really wanting to know who the genius was that came up with the idea of putting the crappy direct to video film with the original classic? I mean, do we have this to look forward to for other DAC releases? Really dumb move.

Thanks for the correction! It'll be coming out on August 9th of this year, not June. That's going to be a month before "Dumbo" comes out.

Look at it this way, otherwise you'd never have gotten 70 minutes of bonus material for the first movie

.
Frankly I don't get what the big deal is. They can clearly fit easily on the same disc, and it would probably never have gotten a separate release. Also, I should be glad to see that some of the less popular Disney releases are getting a release, instead of the more popular titles.
