hmm, I gotta say I definitely prefer the open-mouth smile on the finished project >_>
So it turns out I'm gonna be working on Black Friday, but I'll be off the day after. Maybe then I'll go hunting for Hamm and Potato Head! If anyone finds 'em keep us posted!

Yeah, I at first wanted the closed smile Woody too, but that prototype doesn't look good. I know it would have changed by the final release, but I way perfer the one we have now.
I seriously doubt Hamm and Potato Head are coming this week. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'd think we'd have heard something -- ANYTHING -- by now if they were coming. Even on the Disney Store webpage at least. But nothing new yet

I'm torn on the Woody face. Can't argue with accuracy, and I love accuracy, but of course the smile is more pleasant and alive looking. As for Hamm and Potato Head not coming this week, well, I don't mind a little breather while most of my money now goes to gifts for others. I haven't even had the chance to get R/C yet, because I've spent too much already getting the others. I don't want to see them get pushed back again and again, but I would be happy to have the holidays first.

Yeah I don't think so either, they were in the Target release plan, then got removed. They could still release before the holidays, but might be cutting it close. probably better to assume it'll be sometime between Jan and March.
As for Woody, I cant disagree more with you guys. yes the open mouth is more alive, but he's not supposed to look alive, he's supposed to look almost zombie like in his default state. Also, what kind of bothers me about the open mouth, as stupid as this might sound, is the inner mouth. it needs to be painted with a dark color, something that isn't flesh toned, looks odd like that. which of course could be avoided if they simply closed his mouth.

Well, Kyle, I do pretty much agree with you about sticking with the closed mouth, being that it is the correct look of non-alive Woody...

Personally, I agree that the open-mouth smile is more pleasant, and should be used on most Woody dolls. However, this particular line exists so that fans can own a real "original Sherriff Woody" from that hit show, "Woody's Roundup!" That original toy had (in the Toy Story films) a closed mouth. If they're going for authenticity rather than aesthetic appeal (which is the case, I believe), they probably should have used the closed mouth.

I just picked this up at Toys R Us. I had no idea this was out. This is by far the best Bo Peep I have ever found it is the most movie acccurate Bo, she has swivel legs that go all the way up the dress which has three layors of ruffles. The cane is removable and her arms waist and neck are moveable. Shes shinny just like porcelin. She stands great to!!

That Bo Peep is nice, I had read about it, but isn't it just a small action figure or something? I mean, it's not full size or certificate of authenticity or anything like that, is it?

No its not a Toy Story Collection one, I wish it was!!! Its not so tiny either tho. Its about 5 inches tall but it looks so good I just wish it were to scale. But It is still the best i've seen.

I really wish they would have a Toy Story Collection Bo Peep, packaged with the entire lamp set and all. That would be really really cool....

Its tiny as in its like half the size it needs to be. That's all I was getting at.
another thing that bothers me about is is the dress, shouldnt it be fabric instead of plastic? and those seams between the arms and torso kinda stand out to me, but again that's probably due to the smaller size.

I don't recall ever getting the impression her dress was fabric. She was either made of porcelain or plastic, or some other hard material (I have one in mind, but I can't think of it).

the fact that it wasnt at all shiny, and had a certain texture is what led me to think it was fabric. A very stiff fabric, but still. it also seemed to bend quite a bit as she walked.

I noticed that, too. It seemed a bit lacy around the bodice, especially. Some of the stiffness was, I think, just the stiffness of the fabric, coupled with just the look of mid-90s computer animation, honestly. To be fair, there were a few things that weren't perfected in the least when "Toy Story" came out.

That's true, but who's to say the closed smile Woody is the only one that ever was released? We saw as soon as Toy Story 2 they already had a new Buzz Lightyear with the utility belt. Sure, it's not the same one that Andy specifically got, but I have no doubt the Toy Story Collection Woody is a true, authentic Woody from the Woody's Roundup show, like the box claims (I love the disclaimer on the box that says it's not a real show)
Anyway, I finally got around to getting the whole set. Here's all of them together, although I'll say the Soldiers are still the non COA ones, but I will eventually grab those. I plan on stacking the buckets on top of each other to get them to the full size they are in the films!

Nice pic!
So I don't suppose anyone's seen Hamm or Mr. Potato Head right? I didn't see 'em anywhere

(not that I was really expecting to though >_>)

Well, I'm about to complete my collection I think. I got an American Express gift card for 50 as a Christmas Bonus/Gift at work, so I think I'm going to order RC off ToysRUs.com. Never used this sort of Gift Card before, but I guess they should accept it.

I almost forgot about these. I would definitely want one for christmas, but am not in an adrenaline-inducing rush to get one.

I'm eagerly anticipating the release of whoever comes next.
Haven't seen anything new at Toys R Us or the Disney Store =[
