Rock Night:

1. Allison - I love her so much.
2. Adam - Totally in his element tonight, a knock-out performance.
3. Kris - Mediocre, but could have been worse.
4. Danny - Easily one of the 10 worst performances ever on the AI stage. The fact that he got praised for trying at this stage is a complete testament to how far up the judges you know what's he really is.

The Duets:

1. Allison/Adam
2. Kris/Danny

I didn't care for the duets in general. No harmony at all. Hopefully they will never return.

Bottom Two: Danny & Allison

Going Home: Allison. :(

Widdi, I actually agree with your rankings for tonight. I tweeted my thoughts here: http://www.twitter.com/aaronspod I'll repeat the one I feel most strongly about:

Of all of the terrible Aerosmith covers that Idol has seen over the year, Danny's is the worst. Don't try, dude, you can't hang with Steven

Oh and Kara told Danny to do EARLY Aerosmith like Cryin' and Crazy instead. Dream On was on their debut album in 1973. Cryin and Crazy came in '93.

I'll agree with Widdi's predictions for the Bottom Two but think Danny will go home.

To be completely honest, I didn't care for anyone tonight. Adam was the best of the bunch, but that's not to say I was crazy about what he did either (too bad rock musicals don't count, he could've done "Sweet Transvestite"). The Lambert-Iraheta duet was the only highlight of the night.

And I seriously got kicks off of Gokey's screaming at the end. I know that sounds mean, but I couldn't help laughing.

Anyway, I hope Danny goes next.

Aerosmith is one thing you and I both strongly agree on Aaron.

I was bustin' a gut when she said that.

I want nothing more than Danny to get voted off tonight, but I can't see it happening.

Saved all of this for a single post. Loved the rock night, still wonder why they had Slash there as a mentor, but that's just me, I never liked him in anything he did, be it Guns and Roses or Velvet Revolver.

The worst two of the night were Danny and Allison. Although Kris was tossed around pretty good also for his poor rendition of the Beatles' "Come Together".

My prediction on Tuesday night after the show was over was Allison and Danny Gokey.

Wednesday night came and when they announced that No Doubt was reunited and heading out on tour, I turned up the volume to listen to them just one more time. I thought Paula's song and dance were okay, the lip-syncing thing was okay for the most part, she actually did some of it live, but it was basically lip-synced.

Highlight of the night after No Doubt was, of course, the return of Chris Daughtry and he rocked the place with "No Surprise" off his new album which is scheduled for release the week of my birthday in July.

When Kris was told he was safe, you could see it in his eyes, that he knows that his days are numbered. And when announced that it was Allison who wasn't moving on, I was a little shaken, but figured that the "Boy's Club" will do without her.

Next week the Top Three and then it is the big Finals Shows. Can everyone say Adam is the American Idol for 2009??

I knew it, U.S crack sales are sky high this year. :(

You'll be missed Allison.

I'm not really surprised Allison went home. I knew Kris and Adam were automatically safe, regardless of how they performed. As for Danny, America always goes for the sob story (and he was indeed the sob story on rock night)--just like with Brooke White last year, when she re-started.

Ah well. All I can do is hope Danny is out next week. If he's in the top two, I'll be as depressed as the season Taylor Hicks won.

First of all, Taylor Hicks has been one of their top Idols. Sure his first album sucked, and he got dropped by the label. But he kept persevering in his realm as a good singer, and was picked up by the touring New York cast show for "Grease", where he has the chance to shine.

He also formed his own record label, and has a new album out, that if you haven't heard it yet, you are missing one of the best albums of the year.

As far as this year's American Idol goes, Danny has not brought up his "sob story" since the Top 36 were revealed, he has solely depended on his talent, which he has plenty. He, unlike some of the other contestants, listens to the judges and puts there criticisms to work to improve his showmanship. Sure that scream at the end of "Dream On" was shrill and ear-shattering, but if you watched the show Wednesday night he could make light of it.

Kris will be going home after next week's show, you mark your calendar for that, and then it will be Adam's title to lose against Danny Gokey in the Finals. It should be an exciting final two and one of the few times that I wish there could be a tie for the title because they are both deserving.

We have not heard the last of Allison Iraheta either. After the summer tour hers will probably be the first album released from any of this years contestants. She has a great voice, and can sing the yellow pages backwards and everyone would be happy.

I'm sorry, Bill, but Taylor Hicks is NOT one of the "top Idols." He has few fans, and has not been in the spotlight since the night of his win.

I was not really surprised that Allison went home last night. I think that we are going to have a Danny/Adam finale.

When I wrote sob story, I didn't mean his wife--though I guess it came out that way. I was really referring to the ending, horrible scream, because America always has sympathy for people who screw up really bad (even to the point that someone more deserving leaves as a result).

In my personal opinion, Kris is the only person on the show this year who could even possibly contend with Adam. Not only because he obviously has a cornerstone on the huge girl AI fanbase, but because he's the only one who has consistently brought it nearly every week of the season. Danny, for all the singing talent he has, is nowhere near them. I can honestly say I've only ever enjoyed him during his renditions of "What Hurst The Most" and "Jesus, Take The Wheel" (a song I had never before cared for). Even if Danny makes it to the final two or even if he won, he would be forgotten faster than Lakisha of Jordin Sparks' year (who had a good voice, but who can she market to?).

As for Taylor Hicks, he has charm and I'm sure he's been good for his genre, but he never was, never will be, never could be a huge, sensational artist.

i think allison should have stayed. danny's goin home next wk. adam's gonna win! & Paula's song was great. Carrie underwood is better than taylor though his version of dancing in the dark was cool. tho the boss kicks ass-I wonder y he doesn't do the live version anymore dancin with an audince member. (ie courteney cox arquette & others)

I was very aggravated that Danny "Overrated" Gokey managed to slide into the top three after that extremely mediocre performance Tuesday night.

And, while it was a shame Allison didn't make it past Danny, it matters very little to me as Adam (my favorite and choice to win) and Kris (the cutie) are sill in! I would love a Kradam finale!

Here's a quote from Variety magazine in December 2008. "The road show version of "Grease" has gotten a revival with the addition of former American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks. Box Office nets for the past two weeks have been in excess of 200% of projected earnings, and the addition of Hicks has been credited for this rise in ticket sales."

"Grease" with Taylor Hicks played here in Wichita for three nights, and was sold out months before it was due, and there was such a demand for tickets that they hurredly added a fourth show, a matinee performance on Sunday afternoon.

Taylor Hicks also played in concert here in Wichita and in Oklahoma City, and both venues were sold out months before the performance.

Just because you didn't care for Taylor Hicks, doesn't mean that you should brand him as a 'has-been' at this stage of his career. Go to his web site and read about all the good he has done for several big-time charities, and give his new album a listen. If you don't like him, that is fine, but he has a very substantial fan base out there and he is doing what he loves best and that is entertain.

:D

That all may be true, but what is undeniable about Taylor Hicks is that he is is the WORST SELLING Idol winner of all time. Like all artists, he has his followers, but a stage show sell out and concert sell-outs in one region does not a success make.

You are forgetting Bucky Covington, whose album never made the Top 100 Billboard list.

Look at some of the top selling concerts for 2008 and this year, and you will see that Taylor Hicks is mentioned in quite few of them. Sure he is no Kelly Clarkson, or Carrie Underwood. But he ranks right up there with Ruben Studdard, who last two albums have tanked badly.

Like him or not, Taylor Hicks deserved the American Idol title, and he done well by it and for himself. You can't knock talent, and he does have plenty of that.

I believe that neither Adam nor Danny will have sustaining fan base that Taylor Hicks across the country. We have seen what Adam does, and he is good at it, but what does he bring to the table that is new and original. He will probably front a band in the coming years and that will be all we will hear from him. Danny Gokey on the other hand, has enough originality and stage presence to 'probably' win this thing provided he doesn't screw it up this next week. We will see. As I have said before and since the Top 12 was announced, it is Adam Lambert's title to lose.

Oh, I forgot to post this earlier, but...

Am I the only one who wishes they would hurry up and think of having a duet CD between the American Idols (or maybe even some non-winners, too?--like Daughtry, Archuleta, McPhee or Yamin, as examples).

I've thought of this ever since the two David's sang last year on the finale, and again when Carrie Underwood and David Cook sang together at WDW. I just really like several of the winners, and duets are always greats, so I wonder if they've started thinking about this, too (with the inclusion of duets this year)?

I mean, Kelly Clarkson with David Cook? Clarkson and Underwood? Or, really, Kelly Clarkson with anyone? Jordin Sparks has a great voice and Fantasia does as well, though those two would be hard to mix with the others (because their voices are so different). I don't know, for some reason that's just been a dream wish of mine lately.
