Congratulations, PR1! Thanks also to Skyler for a wonderful speech!
WOW :o

I never thought I would win this award (pulls out a crumpled hastily assembled thank you speech). I'd just like to say THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT FROM THE FORUM MEMBERS! AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO LUKE for cleaning up the ARL report and making it a much more polished piece with a great layout to boot. Without his special touch, it would only be half the article it was. I'm honored and humbled by this here award, especially considering the formidable competition. All of the entrants are equally deserving.

HOWEVER....
You don't know what this means to me, how hard I've worked to get to the top.... now with a Golden Mickey, I can go on to write that next big Hollywood sceen play.... perhaps even POTC IV, or Cars II, or Bambi III, or Toy Story IV... I can dump my husband and get a date with Keanu Reeves, I can score a table at Spagos, I can tell my bosses to take a hike.... rats! There's that wrap up music.... Ok Thank you, thank you (hastily leaves the podium)....

Congratulations Pluto Region 1, but I think your you'd better stick to your husband if we don't want to hear of the execution of Keanu Reeves in the news report. :)

Now you'd better go and polish up that trophy! :thumb:

See you.

Yeah, if Mike hears about my plans, I'm dust! Thanks for the fireworks Julian! :) A BIG THANKS to all the presenters for their hard work and entertaining introductions and for Aaron for MCing the awards ceremony, which must be a big job to begin with.... And what has happened to Ichabod, I mean, Joan? :( She's taken a powder on us! Is she outside waiting for the festivities to end so she can interview the participants or maybe she has already made it over to Spago's for the after party?

Thanks for all the warm congrats from everyone here, I am still very humbled by the experience. I am very grateful to be part of such a supportive group. But I don't expect to have that amazing of an assignment ever again. Nope, that was it. I'm washed up, finished. The repo guys are coming for the BMW tomorrow.... my agent isn't returning my calls, the eviction notice is on my studio door.... WHY, WHY, WHY???? I just don't have it in me.... My face is in a bottle every day now.... I wander the streets, not even knowing where I am.... I'm 2 steps away from living on a park bench. That's how it is in Hollywood. You walk through those studio gates every day for FIVE years and then the very next day, that's it: baboom, bababang! FINISHED. Douglas, the guard at the gate, doesn't even want to know you... "Sorry Pluto Region1, I've got instructions not to let you on The Lot".... I have nightmares at night that I'm banging on those studio gates and screaming, "Let me in! Let me in!"

But I do have my one and only Golden Mickey, and for that I am grateful! :P Very cool! Thanks again, guys!

Each year, I present a special category award that is decided with the help of your suggestions. This year, the award will honor one of the banners that have decorated our forum over the last year. I have asked the one and only Disneykid to present this year's award. So enough blabbering from me; here he is!

---

When a new DVD is released by Disney, there is much anticipation surrounding it, particularly if it's a decked-out, two-disc set. With each major release, the logo of our very own UltimateDisney.com is customized to suit that film. Seeing it at the top of the forum each day increases the excitement of those eager to own that new DVD. Several of these logos have stood out in people's minds and one has been chosen for this year's honor based on your suggestions...

This is Luke's 12th Golden Mickey Award and his second time as the Special Award recipient. He received the Special Award for Outstanding UD Dedication two years ago. He has 24 total nominations this year and has previously won twice this year.

Luke, come on in and make an acceptance speech and maybe post that banner for us all to revisit! :D

Thanks, Disneykid, for that great speech. Join us, one and all, when we take a look at the Most Controversial Thread/Topic of the Year tomorrow night!

Thank you, thank you. I was expecting the Bambi logo to win, seeing as that was the one I didn't make, but I guess it was either forgotten, didn't qualify, or whatever. But, rather than continue babbling, let me bring out three friends -- a spaceman, a cowboy, and a stylish URL -- whose appearances have been requested...

Hip hip hooray for Woody, Buzz, and UD! You guys earned this Golden Mickey!

Oh and kudos to everyone making the awards and acceptance speeches. They've been highly amusing, my own being the exception!

I wasn't here early enough to catch the Toy Story banner, but it really looks pretty. One would think it was made by the guys at Pixar.

Congratulations Luke! :)

Woot, I got to present an award that our very own Luke won! Way to go on the banner design and win, Luke! The Toy Story one was definitely the coolest banner this site has seen, yet. It's also very fitting since the film is Luke's favorite animated film. Congrats again! :D

Here ye, here ye, ladies and gents. I give you the wonderful Wonderlicious!

------

No matter how hard you try not to, one will always find an argument or some kind of controversy whereever they will go. And this forum is full of them, of which five have been nominated for the award of "Most Controversial Thread/Topic of the Year". In these threads, one wonders if everyone actually likes each other. For example, in the first of our shortlisted threads, Tell Me There Are More Good People In This World, you begin to wonder if there are good and peaceful people in the world based on the arguments given. Then, there are potentially provocotive questions such as Why Would Anyone Be a Republican? asked a lot, which showed how fierce people could be based upon a bunch of powerful people in an albino Washington mansion. Of course, there were things to do with certain people; an Apology/Notification from long lost UD member Jack and the issue of a Guru Banned caused controversy amongst many. Then there's the topic of Pope John Paul II, which ironicly became as hot as a hellish furnace.

Let's look at those nominees one more time!

Apology/Notification by Jack
Pope John Paul II by castleinthesky
Guru Banned by castleinthesky
Tell Me There Are More Good People In This World by princesssnowbunny
Why Would Anyone Be a Republican? by Lazario

....And the "winning" thread is....

While the Controversial Thread of the Year award doesn't "go" to anyone, you may want to read this year's winn...er...recognized thread: Tell Me There Are More Good People In This World by princesssnowbunny

May everyone who participated take a look back and have a good laugh without resurrecting it. :P

Much thanks to Wondy for that Wondy-ful speech. It seems that Joan's video feed has been disconnected. Hopefully we re-establish it soon! Join us tomorrow night when we present the award for Thread/Topic of the Year.

Go bunny! Now someone quietly tiptoe to the vaults and quickly toss in the award without giving anyone in there a chance to escape back out.
