Josh Gad, Santino Fontana, and Alan Tudyk are officially announced in the voice cast for Frozen. Nice to see Tudyk do more voice work, his performance in Wreck It Ralph was great!

Great news. His voice work was excellent in WIR.

Tudyk? I will be genuinely annoyed if he is voicing a secret villain again.

Of course, this is based on nothing yet.

I wonder what the story behind Olaf is though. When the curse if lifted, will he reveal himself to be something other than a snowman? If not, he'd be dead. (that would make the comparison to Ray a bit too much for me  )

Article on Stitch Kingdom.
Alan Tudyk (42, Wreck-It Ralph, ABC’s ‘Suburgatory’) joins the film as the voice of the Duke of Weselton.

...

Tudyk, who gives voice to a prominent duke visiting Arendelle for a coronation ceremony, returns to the WDAS recording studio following an Annie Award-winning performance as the voice of King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph.
We now have five male characters: Olaf, Sven, Kristoff, Hans, and now, a Duke of Weselton. Is this Duke the TRUE villain? Or is he just a minor character?

All questions, no answers. :|

Surely that's a good thing because then you'll find out the answers when you watch the movie. If you know everything beforehand it would be like knowing all your Xmas presents before opening them, which ultimately ruins the element of surprise! ;-)

I knew this trailer was going to generate a lot of discussion (and backlash!) but yikes.

Agreed. :thumb:

Yep, almost identical . . . because they're both . . . white . . . snowmen . . . ?

Having just slept on it, I now find the trailer to not be as bad as I originally thought it was. It IS odd that Disney decided to market the comedic characters first above the story, music and even THEIR PRINCESSES ( :o  ), and it is even odder when the film had yet to make any impressions on people. But looking at it again, it is a very nice looking teaser with bright colors and great animation. And who knows, for all our negativity and cynicism, maybe this WILL work in the end. Lord knows that for all the criticisms we launched towards Tangled in all its assets, the movie turned out to be a big hit for Disney.

Just because the curse is lifted doesn't mean that whatever Elsa created with her powers will disappear. She'll probably retain her powers even after the curse is broken so there's no real reason why Olaf can't stay as is.

We know that Olaf sings about his dream living in the sun so perhaps he'll become unmeltable in the end to live his dream?

Haven't you learned anything from the way 'Tangled' was marketed? Apparently, it worked for Disney and I guess almost everyone here is satisfied with that film.

All in all with only 5 months until the premiere this is not going to cut it. Why is Disney marketing asleep at the wheel like never before? :? All these other teasers prove that this is the least footage we've ever gotten in a first promo.
You forgot to add the "Big Hero 6" teaser released last month! A well done 30sec clip of the city of San Fransokyo (complete with WIR easter egg)!

2 things:

1) YAY FOR ALAN! He was "turbo-tastic" in Wreck-It Ralph.
2) I just read this in an article:

"Fontana provides the voice of Anna’s handsome suitor Hans, who steps in to govern Arendelle when Anna takes off to find her sister."

http://www.movieweb.com/news/disneys-frozen-trailer

Could this be a hint that Hans IS the evil Ice Ruler in the prophecy?

Unmeltable would be a stretch even for Disney :P

I get what you're saying but yeah, my point was that he would melt. I'm just guessing maybe he was human before the curse? Tangled borrowed heavily from Beauty and the Beast (among others), Frozen could do the same .... Again, just thinking outloud here.

Well, with Bobby Lopez and Josh Gad working together in Book of Mormon, I say that Lopez defientely wrote Gad a song. And I think it'll be something like that. :P :P

That's what I initially thought, until I read about this new Duke character. Now I have no clue.

Plus there are (allegedly) trolls in the film. Maybe they are the baddies?

I also read this theory that suggests Olaf is the bad guy. rotfl Strangley enough, it does have some sense to it.
