Well its getting kind of off tipic to talk about all of the Oswald news in the True Life and Secrets threads. I so want that black and white stuffy. Hope its at Disneyland in January.

It's nice to see they'll probably keep this character somewhat faithful to the original. But that thing called a "stencil set" - is that new or old...?

I am assuming it is new by the article but it certainly could pass for 70 years old. Do they still make stencil sets?

The stencil set is probably a reproduction of an old toy for nastalgic purposes. I'd like to get one when this stuff becomes available. Does anyone know what company is making these toys? Because I think a Japanese company made the last Oswald toys and I never saw them in the states.

It'd be cool to get some of this stuff, though right now I'd like to get some of that Gremlins stuff more. Is any of it out yet? Besides the book I mean.

Oswald merchandise?

Ok, so 2 days ago, I was doing some last minute xmas shopping at the Disney store. And what do I find?

They had OSWALD PLUSHIES. Tons of them. In collectible boxes, complete with character history on the back.

About a week before that, they had Oswald pins.

Is Disney doing this as promotion for the new Treasure sets? Or because they really want to get Oswald out into the open (ie- let consumers know he exists)

Has anybody else seen any Oswald stuff?

....the plushies were really cute.... :)

Disney Stores had a full display of various Oswald product up until recently when they were removed to make room for other features/promotions. Some stores still have the canvas posters for $30 and the boxed plush for... sorry, I can't recall at the moment. Maybe between $20-30. I'll check Wednesday and post again here if someone doesn't beat me to it first.

There's also an Oswald Christmas ornament. You can find it via keyword search for "Oswald" on disneystore.com.

Wow, all that stuff sounds right up my alley. I have only seen the canvas poster and really want it, though at the moment I don't have anywhere to put it anyway. In fact, Oswald's is the only Disney Treasures set I still need to purchase. I'll pick it up soon though. Still need the 4th Legacy Collection also.

I just checked ebay, and folks (unless its just one guy) are trying to get 90 bucks for that new merchandise! Ha! Is it all that rare yet?

90 bucks for a plushie? :o

The rarity wouldn't surprise me though, seeing how Disney now prefers to stick with their princess merchandise. This brings back memories of how difficult it is to find any disney products that are non-princess in most toy stores now. :P

The ornament was about $50 (the one in the silver tin) and the canvas poster was the same price as the others. Didn't see any plush or pins though.

I checked in person today and the retail price on the Oswald boxed plush is $49.50.

They are not rare, unless you live too far away from a Disney Store.

*chuckles* told ya he was haunting the disney stores Amy *smiles* I saw the plushies and the Posters at our Disney store, the plushw as $50 and the poster was $30 which seemed reasonable for me....now if we can get Oswald on the t-shirts then I'll defintly buy it.

Just discovered today that the Oswald canvas posters are on clearance for only $11.99. I don't know how long this clearance sale will last, but I assume at least through 1.13.07.

Disney Store now has an Oswald travel mug in stock. Sorry, no pic. Uses the same image and background color as the canvas poster. Opposite side of the mug shows Oswald's back, with the caption "Oswald's Back".

If we had a general Disney theme park thread, maybe this would be best there, but the blurb does mention merchandise...

Editor's Note 8/9-10: The next big Disney marketing push is a character named Duffy, supposedly Mickey's little teddy bear that travels the world with him. Way-too-cute Duffy makes his big debut in the American parks Oct. 14th at DCA and Epcot. Expect a major campaign, since he's already huge in Japan and has the potential for massive sales of the plush and all the accessories. Look for photo locations in DCA and Epcot as well as the obligatory viral marketing this fall, so get your credit cards ready. - Al Lutz
I thought his name is Disney Bear...
