According to this info, I think it's implied that Arista is only loving and naive. According to the series not only is she not naive, but she's curious, opinionated, headstrong, quite stubborn smtimes and really capable. It looks here as if they try to present her as a dumb blonde, "innocent" bimbo- that reminds me of Melody (Josie and the Pussycats) from the Archie Comics.
So the sisters now have completely different characters than the characters they had in the series (the sisters who had a character in the series, that is!)?
As for Alana they seem to follow what we've seen in the series, I guess.

God, I hope they go all out with and Ariel and her Sisters line like they did for Tinkerbell and her friends. I really hope they have a "Mermaids" movie with all of them!

OMG thank you VanessaFan! I will admit, I liked the original video better by far, but this one had some nice moments. I certainly like the video starting out with Ursula's smirk, and the clips I liked were Ariel's gasp in the mirror, Ursula smiling behind Triton, Eric and Vanessa walking down the isle, Triton aiming the trident, Eric looking at Ariel's ass (you know!), Ursula finished transforming from Vanessa, Scuttle bouncing on Ariel's leg, Ariel singing in Eric's face, Vanessa looking over at the sunset, Ursula going up to her potions cabinet, and Eric and Ariel kissing.

I think I also didn't like this one as much due to the colors. I feel this song should have a darker, murkier look, because it just feels that way, especially when the song slows down and sounds far away (or under water). In any case, I favorited it!

What better time to bring this thread back up than now?!

I figured this would be a good time since The Little Mermaid III: Ariel's Beginning is going to (hopefully) give the Mer-Sisters the screen time they deserve! And not a moment too soon if you ask me, seeing as how this is probably the last time (at least for a looooong time) that we'll get anything new from the world of The Little Mermaid! *tear*

Anywho, for those of you who don't know, there's a character description page on the site for AB and it has some great info on the Sisters!

ATTINA is the oldest, and so feels a certain sense of responsibility for her sisters. Sometimes, she can come off a little bossy, but really she just loves her sisters and her Dad ad she wants them all to get along.

ALANA is glamorous and embodies the natural beauty of a mermaid. She enjoys beauty treatments the enhance her delicate features and longs for the return of festivities and events where she can dress up and radiate her charm. The Catfish Club is a dream come true where she can be the belle of the ball.

ADELLA is the boy-crazy one who longs to kiss a boy. Any boy, that is, but Squid Lips Stevie!

AQUATA radiates with self-confidence and is outgoing and bold. So it's surprising when she holds back at the music club and won't join her sisters on the dance floor. When she reluctantly admits to her sisters that she can't dance and is afraid what other may think, they pull her out onto the dance floor. She gathers enough courage, realizing that the fun is in letting loose together and dances with wild (though awkward) abandon.

ARISTA is very pure of heart and loving, although she can sometimes be a bit slow. Surprisingly, she turns out ot be great on the trumpet and at the secret underground music club, end up filling in for band member Cheeks, the blowfish, while he is on break.

ANDRINA approaches life with a natural sense of humor, which often takes the form on gentle sarcasm. Andrina can seem a bit carefree about life. Andrina reveals herself to be surprisingly vulnerable: she isn't sure she wants to open her heart to music again, only to have it taken away.

Phew! That was quite a bit to type! haha. Most of us seemed right when we said Attina was the oldest. Also, we learned about a new character: the Adella-crazed "Squid Lips" Stevie! I can't wait to see him!

I hope now more than ever that with the release of AB we really do see a full blown Ariel and her Sisters line because that would just be amazing!

They never really said who was. Although Aquata was definitely my second choice for being oldest, after Attina.

OK, this has nothing to do with Ariel's sisters but I found this Disney Princess magazine and I was browsing through it and there's a story about how Ariel's grandmother came to visit them. She looks really funny - short and stern and wears some sort of dress over her tail. Did she ever appear in other comics?
