Do you think they've placed the Elsa and Kristoff dolls together on purpose? Is it possible they end up a couple? That would certainly explain Anna's relationship with Hans.

It would be so refreshing if they avoided the tired cliché of having the protagonists go on a journey together and become romantically interested in each other.

The fact that the Elsa and Anna dolls have basically the exact same faces with the same dead expression terrifies me. I probably should have expected copy-and-paste toys from a Disney movie with sister-protagonists, but it's still freaky.

I guess the color of Anna's dress probably symbolizes that she's Elsa's opposite and the pink and green (which is a horrid shade) represents spring or summer while Elsa's represents winter. There's probably more explanation about that in the film.

Yes, that's probably the reason behind the color palette chosen for each sister. Still, that green looks hideous. :headshake:

I find it hard to believe no on in development saw it. I wonder if they're taken straight from the film, or maybe they're smaller there. Should give parents with a sense of humor a laugh.

I like Elsa's green skirt, it's rich color.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who likes Anna's green skirt! Usually its an awful shade, but here I feel like they made it work. It's different from the usual pastel shades you would expect all feminine heroines to have, you know?

And those wands are probably not actually in the movie but just made especially for the dolls. I'm sure they do something with water to change colors or make things appear or something.

Yeah I know what you mean. They don't usually use bold colours like chartreuse. The other greens have been soft and more subdued like Jasmine's minty green (in the Princess merchandise) and Tiana's soft lime.

It's mostly a princess movie, so honestly Anna and Kristoff will get together. And honestly, the relationship between Anna and Hans isn't really a spoiler. They will defientely explain that in the beginning.

And also, like the ball gowns at the beginning, I think that the green dress is only for the merchandise.

By the way:

I have a feeling that this could be this decade's Pocahontas. When the Disney Reniassance came out, there were 3 huge hits-Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Lion King, which every loved. But when the 4th movie came out, Pocahontas came out, a lot of people HATED IT.

And now, in the Disney Returns Era (I'll call this for now because I forget the name for this :/), there are 3 hits: Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and WI-Ralph. This is the 4th film in this era and there are some backlash from people about Anna's apperance to some insiders who saw the movie or some clips and said that so far, the movie is too generic with the characters, plot, and humor.

Hopefully, this will be a hit and be probably the "Beauty and the Beast" of the decade. :|

Pocahontas grossed $346,079,773 worldwide & won 2 Oscars, a Golden Globe, 4 Annies & a Grammy!
And here's another: Toy Story made $361,958,736 & lost best song & score at the oscars to Pocahontas! You mean to tell me that TS only made 15mil more than P? Pocahontas is more like this decade's Brave.

As for Frozen, it a sure bet it will be a big hit this winter. It has the biggest marketing potentail over Tangeld & WIR cause it can tie-in the entire Xmas/Holiday season in it's avertisment. Plus, 2 princesses instead of 1 which should do wonders for the princess line. And the only other animated film coming out this winter is Free Birds. Originally scheduled for November 14, 2014, the film was moved up a year to November 1, 2013, due to the vacant slot left after the delay of Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which will be out next March.

Stop trying to draw false parallels with the Disney Renaissance. You are ignoring the existence of Winnie the Pooh. Also, The Princess and the Frog (and in a lesser case, Tangled and WIR) has not been as well received as the films in the early Renaissance. Even if they were the same, history need not repeat, it's not like there is a rule where they have to make a mediocre movie after three hits (I liked Pocahontas in any case).

And the insiders have only really commented on the character design and backgrounds Where did you see them mention the characterization, plot and humour?

I agree with everyone who thinks Anna's green dress is hideous.

The Kristoff doll looks better than the design we got of him forever ago. If he does end up with Elsa, I might like him a bit more than I expected.

Honestly, it's impossible to find a parallel conexion between all these films, plus you cannot say "huge hits" from the 90's without including The Little Mermaid. Also, The Princess and the Frog is a good movie, but wasn't really that hit like Tangled or WIR are...

And Pocahontas wasn't hated by everyone... a lot of people (including myself) liked it even more than The Lion King for example. It was horribly underrated because it hadn't a happy ending and for don't being "better" than The Lion King.

So, if Frozen is good but people like it less than Tangled, that makes it a bad movie? I don't think so.

You got that right. The fine folks at WDAS got wind that you hated CG so much that they changed the film to have stop-motion animation.

Hi, I had the chance to attend to a special preview of the movie in Paris this morning.
It was unexpected because very secret.
Of course I didn't discover everything as I have many references of the movie for months now as freelance artist who uses to work sometimes for Disney.
But I had the pleasure to see at last some animated clips and hear some songs and voices !
Honestly, if I didn't know before the overall story with its twists, I would think it's really close to Rapunzel but set in the snow.
What's so close to Rapunzel is that Sven the reindeer acts like a dog and that Anna's acting is very Rapunzel-like.
Anyway, we saw some concept-arts (which I knew them all already of course) and final CG characters sheets and both girls look very sweet, disneyish and much more cuter than on the leaked posters.
We also got to see 5 clips of the movie which were all more or less finished and in work-in-progress.
Of course, the visuals are beautiful and the final shots are beautifully rendered and you can sense that Frozen is a typical Classic Disney movie inbetween the fresh and more original Wreck-it Ralph and Big Hero 6 to come next year.
Krsiten Bell's voice is cute and dynamic and Anna is adorable.
In the 5 clips, there was Elsa' song "Let It Go" which I'm sure the fans of Disney Heroines will definitively love !!
At the end of this preview, they showed us the teaser to come soon that features Olaf and Sven.
It begins with "by the creators of Rapunzel" and it's very cute with a nice humor, but no Elsa or Anna spotted yet.
Btw, Olaf is a funny character but sweet too and people laughed a lot.
Voilà!
NB: about the leaked dolls with the new dresses-outfits, I can only say that both sisters have those outfits in the movie at some point, but look at the previous dolls released by Mattel (Merida, Ariel, Rapunzel etc...), they look nothing like the original movie, so be reassured that their coronation outfits are only inspired by the movie where they are much more beautiful and classy than those on the dolls. ;)

Can you tell us which will be the couples in the film? Is it Anna x Kristoff, Anna x Hans, Elsa x Kristoff, or Elsa x Hans?

DisneyEra-Really great points, but I mostly meant criticial reactions
Disney's Divinity-I really think it'll be AnnaxKristoff and ElsaxHans (unless Hans is the villian, which I think he is)
Prince Kido-THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFORMATION! So glad that Olaf sounds like the "Ray" in this-Looks annoying, but he's not. My questions:

1. So, my sneaky suspection was right-Sven will not speak?
2. Do you hear ALL OF THE VOICES? If so, as a big Broadway nerd who's always up-to-date with the latest shows, I GOTTA ask this: Is Santino Hans?
3. Do you see the king and queen?
4. Is Hans the villian?
5. What are the other songs like?

And with Elsa's dress in the last picture, I knew because look:
Image

It's the same dress!
