I understand what you're saying, but one (or two? Maybe just one) of the newest stills released were from the old PE clip, but there's also one from the "Sneak Preview" clip. Not to mention how some of the pictures used on the official website (the old and new one) use the old PE clip... Hmm...
I'll just wait it out.

I think it's a different one - I saw the commercial for the film this morning on Fox (4Kids TV), and it sounded more like the one from the Sneak Peek than the PE version. So I can only deduce that it's that one.
As for the stills, I'm guessing that the scene's the same, but the music is the altered one not from the PE.
I'm with
Vermin Friends on this one - let's just wait it out for a couple more weeks. We'll all see for ourselves, right?

I am so happy Disney won't make more of their crappy straight to DVD-movies. Soon The Little Mermaid III will be published to take in some easy cash in order to make some greedy folks at Disney happy, but then at last this sequel/prequel-nonsense will be over. Puh!, am I relieved!

Well, perhaps they saved the best for last?
*crosses fingers* Based on the reviews I've heard about it, TLM:AB seems to be an improvement from their earlier sequels/midquels/prequels/etc.
BTW: does anyone have a HD (or any version) of the 5 min. sneak peek?

Nope, Cinderella III was the best, and will be. Prince Edward, you should give Cinderella III a chance, it's more like an alternate look at what could have happened with the characters, in an exciting, enjoyable way, with good animation and good story.

That may be true now, and might still be true even after TLM3 comes out, but since it hasn't yet, could you please stop pre-judging it?

What about 'Bambi: The Great Prince of the Forest'?

That's what I thought.
To be perfectly honest, the only sequels I would ever accept as a continuation of the canon are the Aladdin sequels (which were the first ones I believe) and Simba's Pride. Even though they definitely aren't animated the best, they at least try to give you some originality (Iago's change of heart, Aladdin's father and Kovu). TEC and Bambi and the Great Prince are nice midquels as well.

I don't consider ANY of them as canons.
You count Return Of Jafar? exept Iago join Aladdin and Forget About Love I think it's a bad movie (Why Jafar was annyoing? and why they made Jasmine so stupid?).

I saw TLMIII yesterday.
Very entertaining.

I think that the mere fact that they exist proves that DTV sequels are canon. They wouldn't make them if that wasn't the case

.
This is bit off-topic, but speaking of "Aladdin" and "Aladdin" sequels, what else do you think is part of the "Aladdin" universe? I've been doing some research and I came up with this (in chronological order):
- Aladdin: Tales from Agrabah (prequel book)
- Aladdin (film)
- Aladdin: Six New Adventures (book series)
- Aladdin: The Return of Jafar (film)
- Aladdin: The Series (TV show)
- Aladdin and the King of Thieves (film)
- Hercules and the Arabian Night (episode of "Hercules: The Series")
- Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge (video-game)
I believe that all of them are part of the same continuity. Not only that, but it seems Disney really paid attention to details in creating this "Aladdin" universe (unlike "The Lion King" where there's definitely something missing in-between "The Lion King: Six New Adventures" and "The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride").

You are missing a vital point here, Disney Duster. Cinderella III is the best .. in your opinion. You cannot say that sentence as if it is what we all feel on here.
The 'best' DTV will differ depending on who you talk to. It doesnt seem very prudent to keep announcing how great you think Cinderella 3 is on the Ariel's Beginning board.

Well, we need standards. Of course their are people in the world who like things that most of us think are bad. I mean, I'm fine with films like Meet The Spartans and Disaster Movie being made because certain people like them. But this is a prequel to a beloved film that messes up things from that film and is not as good as that film. Also, I will not let people say the better work of the people who worked so, so, so very hard on Cinderella III is not as good as the less effort put into Ariel's Beginning.
In that Catfish Club clip some of the animation was so bad, it looked like missing frames and limited movement!
I need to balance this thread out, everyone in here can't be "oh it's good!", everyone needs to say what's on their mind. This is a prequel to one of my favorite movies, and I have every right to say it's bad.
We have to say, no, something isn't right, isn't good, if we want something better.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday when Hercules aired on ToonDisney. I was fascinated by how good it looked for a sequel. Not perfect, of course, but not cringe-worthy either.
Also, I will not let people say the better work of the people who worked so, so, so very hard on Cinderella III is not as good as the less effort put into Ariel's Beginning.
If you're simply talking about
animation, then I have nothing to argue with. Although I think it's insulting to the people who worked on
AB, who we don't even know the circumstances of, to say that they put in "less effort." How do we know they didn't just have less time to work on the film or weren't funded equally? How do we know they weren't told: "Just hurry up and get it out." Wasn't Lassater insistent on ending the DTVs and TLM3 was "too far along" to simply scrap?

How on earth do you know that there was little effort made in this movie ? I agree with you Disney's Divinity.
Of course you can say whats on your mind, just dont be suprised when you have a whole tonne of people saying the contrary. But again, you are missing my point about DTV Disney movies; they can be ignored by the viewer of the original film, or accepted. Its up to them. I mean, not to agrivate you in any way, but I completely ignore A Twist In Time when watching Cinderella, as I hate the fact they erased half of the original movie ! As I have said before, how dare they do that ? Bambi II I think fits in with the first film, and I view it as a complete two parter, same with Aladdin II and III. When I finally watch Ariel's Beginning, I can see for myself if it changes my attitude to the first film etc.
Great trailer! I loved how the man said, "She's the mermaid the whole world fell in love with ... " Too true

I always felt Return of Jafar was more a set up for the series and less a sequel. While King of Thieves was more to close the series. Much as Stitch! opens the series and Leroy and Stitch was closing the series.
Where as TLM2 and TLM3 are true sequels/prequels. Pretty much ignoring TLM series, which I always liked, but they had a backstory for Ariel and Flounder in that one and completely re-wrote it.
Bambi II, Tarzan II and Lion King 1 1/2 were all mid-quels. Movies telling a story that happened within the first movie. Bambi II is by far one of the best sequels, IMO. Animation and story wise. Though I really disliked Thumper in that one. But otherwise, they did very well.
I am not excited about TLM3. Mind you, I think the animation looks good. But the story thus far does not captivate me. Sounds like it starts off good and then goes down hill. I will certainly still buy it and watch it. But I just don't feel excited about it. I just rather not think highly of it, and then be amazed. Rather then be "OMG! I can't wait!" and then be really disappointed.

Thats a very level headed way of thinking of it, Siren, anticipation-wise. I really hope I'm not getting too excited about it and setting myself up for a fall !

That's how I tend to look at things in general (not that I'm a negative person). It just makes more sense in my mind, to not
overly anticipate things as you'll find you build your hopes
so high that, in a way, you're kinda destined to be dissapointed. Films that receive so much hype tend to leave me feeling that way. I'm not saying I come out of the cinema hating the film or anything, just left feeling a tad unsatisfied is all. I'd rather not judge an opinion on something and be pleasantly surprised or better still, blown away by it, that way you're less likely set up for a dissapointing fate (so it's more of a positive thing).
