I'm fairy surprised at this, especially with how well all the Oswald merchandise has been doing in the parks. Bummer. All we can do is hope that Disney doesn't take this the wrong way and assume that "people don't care about Mickey anymore."

Don't care care about Mickey anymore? Great. He's still stuck in the preschool prison for the whole decade.

I blame it on them turning Mizrabel into Maleficent.

Apparently, the reviews for Epic Mickey 2 weren't all that positive and considering how expensive video games are, it makes sense that most people would more likely go for something well received.

Nintendo also recently released a couple of new Super Mario games and let's be honest here, for the past 30 or so years, Mario has been a much more popular mascot than Mickey. I love both characters, but I prefer Mario. If you were to personally give me the choice between playing a Mickey video game or a Super Mario video game, I would pick the latter.

I agree about the high price of games and the lukewarm reviews of Epic Mickey 2 contributing to its failure. I also think that most people are not that interested in licensed games (save for a few exceptions).

On Nintendo, The recent Mario games for the 3DS have been pretty meh. New Super Mario Bros 2 was a mere rehash of the previous title in the series (they used the same worlds, but changed the stages and added the bosses from SMW). Paper Mario Sticker Star was a letdown. It was still a decent game but it could've been so much more. Mario Kart 7 can be fun but it's hard to find others to play online with.

Miyamoto is the modern day Disney, so it's not surprising that Mario would be outperforming Mickey.

Can't say I'm broken up. I just hope this doesn't stop them from making a Funko Pop figure of Oswald in the future.

Excuse me for being a spoiler. And how would Disney continue the franchise of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Ortensia? People and critics are f****** idiots! They should be burn to hell! If Epic Mickey 3 gets cancelled, I'll be acting like this person!

That is beyond overreacting and uncalled for saying for them to burn in hell and I know you have some ADD or OCD but that can't keep being an excuse for these meltdowns of yours. Before posting ask yourself if this is something you would tell a police officer without getting a ticket or getting arrested.

please, you cant cancel what was never planned in the first place. Epic mickey 3 was never part of the plan, games aren't usually like movies that you plan out that far in advance. You take it one at a time.

Why are you calling out Warren Spector? Why not call out the mainstream for not buying the game instead?

Can we expect a Kinect game based on the Alice comedies? :)

Bad news. Disney has shut down Junction Point studios due to failure of Epic Mickey 2. N... okay, I'll calm down. Here's the link: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/28/disne ... ion-point/

To be honest, I'm not surprise. I guess there is no hope for Mickey and Oswald. Mickey and friends will be stuck in Disney Junior....for the whole decade! Excuse me, while I listen to this music to mourn Epic Mickey.

you never know that, Oswald may make his own television show, Disney had a Mickey movie in development at one time Idk what happened to that. Don't look at things from such a bad point of view. Things might change soon, who says Mickey and Oswald can't do both? I'd really like to see them meet in a short of a movie, though I don't think disney would ever do that.

I'm proud of you staying as calm as you are under the circumstances. True the crucifixion of Christ might be a bit much but overall I'm impressed.

This is totally unfair for people and the critics reject Epic Mickey franchise and we'll never finish the whole story of Epic Mickey. Which means no Epic Mickey 3. I want Disney to finish the trilogy of Epic Mickey. I just want to know if Prescott will be saved by those three Petes and will Oswald's fate be a happy ending? Why can't they make movies of them? It would of make sense then using them as games. And I don't think fanfiction will do any good. I'm sorry. I know it's old news, but finding out what happens next after Epic Mickey 2 is frustrating.

Ahh Now I understand why you are so frustrated about this. I haven't gotten around to getting or playing Epic Mickey 2 yet, but one of my pet peeves in life is having a cliffhanger ending whether it be a movie, TV Show, or video game, only for the conclusion to be foiled because it get's canceled. That's been happening a lot lately with cartoons I watch such as Tron Uprising and Young Justice to name a couple. I'm very paranoid that Once Upon a Time could receive such cliffhanger ending without a true conclusion. Hearing this, I might be even slower to want to play the 2nd one now.

I'd be for them to release the 3rd Epic Mickey perhaps in a comic book form ala how they have been doing Darkwing Duck and Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers. That would be better than nothing.

Actually I did get the 3DS Epic Mickey Game and it's quite enjoyable. It pays homage to the old Super Nintendo Games featuring the Castle of Illusion
