After lunch this afternoon, my wife and I wanted a good laugh, so we watched Kevin Kline and Sally Field in Soapdish. This movie is way too funny. And it is better every time we watch it.

Cool that you saw Unlikely Angel, Laz. I just accidentally caught it in the early, early hours of Christmas morning several years in a row, so it's become something of a tradition for me.

In reference to Soapdish, there are too many stars to name them all, the two that appear in the credits before all are the aforementioned Field and Kline.............I am not a Whoopi fan, so I purposely left her off, and Elisabeth Shue is wonderful in the film along with Teri Hatcher and Robert Downey Jr. It is a star-filled comedy and I can't see that anyone can be offended when you just name the two that are headlined in the opening credits.

It is just too good of a movie to be nit-picky about what stars a person mentions first, second or third.

Home Alone 2 Lost in New York: okay but not as good as the first one.

My mom and I got The Break-Up on PayPerView and we both thought it was bad. It wasn't as much funny as it was painful to see them purposefully hurt each other time after time. And, call me crazy and cliche, but when I rent a romcom, I expect happy endings where the guy and girl get together!

The Notebook - Being a guy, I was originally completely turned off by this movie. I can't stand cheesy romance flicks at all! I was finally convinced to watch "The Notebook" and was pleasantly surprised. Watching this movie makes me want a love like Noah and Allie's. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling were born to do this movie, their performances were astonishing. I'd reccomend this movie to anybody...even if you don't like romance movies.

Monster-in-Law- A very entertaining, feel-good comedy. Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda had great on-screen chemistry. I enjoyed it a lot. Highly reccomended.

Last night, on TV, I was channel changing and I alternated between Pulp Fiction and Richie Rich's Christmas Wish. I decided to stick with Pulp Fiction when the Richie Rich movie turned out to be incredibly lame!

Robin Hood: Most Wanted Edition... duh! I liked this film, much more than I remembered.

Well, do remember that the title of the film is, afterall, The Break-Up.

I've got School of Rock playing in the background on TBS and in a minute, I'm going to get off and watch Accepted.

Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

I Really enjoyed this new cut, I actually thought it was a much better film than Superman Returns.

I've started watching Dumbo too.

We baby sat the youngest three of our grandkids last night so it was a Disney night in the Home Theater (which by the way I renamed "A Theater Near You" - just think of all the free publicity, everytime you see a trailer on television it says coming soon to 'a theater near you'............lol).

We watched Oliver and Company, which everyone seemed to enjoy. Been a while since I watched it, and I really didn't remember it being that good.

Second up for the evening was the forty-third watching of Cars, which the kids and grandpa can't seem to get enough of. We lost one of the kids to sleepy eyes about three-fourths the way through.

Third up for the night and this was by request of the oldest (5 years old), we watched Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. Another movie that I had forgotten how much fun it was to see. Jeff York as Mike Fink is a total riot.

After all the kids went to bed, I capped the night off with a bunch of Chip 'n' Dale cartoons that I have duped to DVD+RW until we get a WDT of Chip 'n' Dale.

Cars

I loved this film. Although I wasn't expect this film to be almost as good as any Pixar film in general, but I find it enjoyable.

As far as the buddy film formula goes, it was kinda repettive but it doesn't hold my breath for loving it.

Rating: 9/10

I just finished watching Superman Returns. I absolutely LOVE this movie. Everything from the casting, to the story, and the directing. This is by far my favorite Superman film. Don't get me wrong. I also love Superman: The Movie and Superman II, but, for me, Superman Returns is the one I enjoy the most. I'm going to be watching Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut later tonight, or tomorrow. I can't wait to watch it, to see how his vision of the film plays out.

And I generally avoid anything that Whoopi Goldberg does. There are certain movies that you can't avoid her in, but if I could I would.

What do you think is so special about her? She has the world's worst potty mouth, and her politics stink.
