I have to say that the Dumbo that's not on the cover does in fact look better. Why do we have to get our own Trailer. Why can't they just put it on the webstie just like every other Disney Movie website? Is Disney just being lazy again?

Since I only have the VHS copy of Dumbo, I will be buying this DVD version of the film. I hope the presentation is good. I guess the one on the 60th Anniversary Edition was kind of bad. Hope it has good audio, too. I'm glad that the DVD won't have the trailer for Dumbo 2. Wasn't it scrapped awhile ago? Anyway, I don't think that this Classic needs a sequel. They could have done a better job with the cover art. I think that the 60th Anniversary Edition cover is better. It's more simple, and protains to the main characters, besides Mrs. Jumbo. I hope this is brimming full with extra features, new games, never before-seen deleted scenes and a brand new commentary for the film. Why am I even saying this? Disney wouldn't do this. Apparently, making a great DVD is, as my sister would say, "out of style." Oh well, I hope the movie has some decent extra features.

You said it lol. :D

If this was the cover:

I would totally buy this DVD. Maybe if the mouse, his name is Timothy right, was on the cover in the corner that might help, but oh well. Now I'm having second thoughts. Maybe if I have enough money, I'll get the 60th Anniversary Edition, and then now this new edition. 'Cause apparently some of the trailers/commentary will be gone. I'm not for certain though. I'm saving up for some other movies (e.g. The Little Mermaid, The Fox and the Hound). I'll have to sort this out.

What is the actual time for Dumbo? My VHS tape says 63 minutes, but on the 60th Anniversary Edition, it says 64 minutes. Which one is correct?

If they could use a cover design like that one - that would show some class.

As for the time, I guess it's more like 63 and a half...

Now why won't Disney go for a cover like this? It's really good! I like the pastel colors. At least I think it's pastels........... Oh well. Thanks for the time. I guess they rounded down on the VHS, and rounded up on the DVD.

It doesn't look like a "typical" DVD cover. To me a cover like that would have been a pleasant surprise, but I don't know what the marketing people think.

Yes, but because it doesn't look like a "typical" DVD cover, IMO, more people would want to buy it if it stood out more. And to me, this cover really stands out, and I think that it would really stand out to buyers.

I guess something like that would seem a bit too experimental and therefore too much of a gamble. But I'd be happy to see it.

Perhaps this is a very stupid question... But has anyone actually gotten any update on the features extra to the current 60th Anniversary? Last time I checked on the features for this Big Top version, it seems that they only lost features from the 60th Anniversary rather than adding any.

Well, since it's pretty close to release time for this set, I doubt they're going to announce any more features. But this DVD did gain a few extras, even though they're mosty crap.

It Keeps:
- The Audio Commentary by John Canemaker
- DVD Storybook “Dumbo’s Big Discovery”
- Sing Along Songs
- “Celebrating Dumbo” Featurette
- Walt’s Original TV Introduction For The Film
- Dumbo Art Gallery
- The Animated Shorts “Elmer Elephant” and “The Flying Mouse”

It Looses:
- Michael Crawford's "Baby Mine" music video
- The Sound Design Featurette from The Reluctant Dragon
- Two Trailers
- Look at Dumbo II

Additions:
- DisneyPedia: “My First Circus”
- “Baby Mine” Music Video performed by Jim Brickman and Kassie DePaiva

Actually, the only thing that's supposed to make this release better than the old one is the new transfer.

Some good news for Dumbo lovers...

According to Christian, the audio commentary still features. :)

Oh, I really hope that the commentary is still on here. I don't normally listen to the commentaries, but this one sounds like it is worth listening to.

So is the new DVDs quality better than the Anniversary disc? Like grain omitted, better sound, more sharp/clear. Or is it just the same transfer or a mildly better transfer? Is it like the picture quality of Snow White and Bambi PEs?

No one knows for sure. We are all hoping that it will be a better transfer, but no one is positve :D

Sweet, the commentary's on there.

It may not be a perfect release, but at least Disney is putting some effort in this releaseand now I don't feel a need to buy the 60th anniversary edition anymore since the most important feature is now on this rerelease. :)

I'm so excited that the commentary will be on the new edition. Now, as TPfan said, I don't have to get the 60th Anniversary Edition, either! :D
