Dissapointed with new Exclusives

I think that having Disney Movie Club Exclusive DVD's is a brilliant idea and they did a decent job with the first wave of "Benji: The Hunted," "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken," and "Mail to the Cheif." All three were fullscreen which was the original aspect ratio of at least one of them, and I can live without a chapter insert. No bonus features were expected, so no complaint there either. And they were chapter selected, so my only real gripe was the fact that the two were cropped to fit my screen. The only part of that which bothers me is the fact that Disney acted like they were just importing over the R2 release, but if I am not mistaken, "Wild Hearts" is in widescreen on R2 so it's almost like they made more work for themselves, but I could be wrong. Anyways, wave 2 recently came out and there were 2 movies I was pretty excited about, "Tall Tale" and "Gepetto." Again, both movies are in fullscreen, which is the original aspect ratio for one of them. Both don't have chapter inserts which is fine. My real gripe is that there is no chapter selection menu, and to top that off... this is the real shocker... THEY DIDN'T CHAPTER SELECT THE MOVIES AT ALL!!!!! That's right. There is one chapter, which is the whole movie. If you had to stop it for some reason, you have to sit there and fastfarward through it. It's like having a VHS! And I think Tall Tale was shot in cinemascope because the framing is consistantly off. I can deal with fullscreen releases of movies shot in the standard ratio, but when it's done in cinemascope, it's almost painfull to watch. I sure hope the next wave is at least chapter selected.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy them. It is the only way to own a R1 copy of them, but Disney could at least chapter select them for us!

I was disappointed with the new exclusives because I don't like those movies. Why couldn't they release something good like "Goodbye Miss 4th of July" or "Olie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss".

Hopefully there will be a better selection of exclusives with the next wave.
