Lady and the Tramp (mini) Cover Art

I was surprised there wasn't a thread on this, yet, but Luke has posted some mini cover art for the upcoming Platinum release of Lady and the Tramp. Considering it's only a ROUGH cover, comments like, "They used the characters from the old VHS cover!" are rather useless. All of the Platinums up to this point have gone through several modifications before reaching their final stages, most of which beginning with old VHS clipart (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Bambi, Cinderella). Personally, it looks cute from what can barely be seen, but I do find it odd that it suddenly breaks the layout of the Platinum covers. I would've expected Lady and the Tramp up at the top above the title with characters like Toni, Jock, Trusty, and Si and Am below it. Then again, this same thing happened with Aladdin. Months before a press release came out, a tiny cover was posted on this site that didn't match neither the Platinum layout nor the final cover (the Genie from the special laserdisc cover was above the film's logo, Aladdin in his Prince Ali outfit and Jasmine were in the center below the title, and the palace was in the background). It's possible that when we get larger cover art, the entire layout will be changed to suit the Platinum format.
And wow, I can't believe I rambled so much about cover art that's smaller than an avatar size.

The picture is a bit larger if you click on it.

What...no floating heads? Why isn't Lady floating around, with Si and Am on a cushion below on an unidetifiable floor of some sort. And I bet that they won't even think about making lovely games and just make in depth documentaries like on that horrible
Aladdin DVD. Noooooooo!

Just waiting for you to start it.
The cover art looks fine...I hope it's not final. Gimme a floating head!

But it's not a great one for a platinum edition cover..

I didn't know DVD cases, are more square than rectangular now.
I think its okay coverart but there's too much art on the bottom and it looks so empty above the title. I'd like it better if Lady and Tramp were below the title and the two Italian restaurant owner and cook were looking down at them just like we can see but above the title.

You don't get it. I was sarcastic with sarcasm. A bit complicated, though!

In simple terms, he was replying with a sarcastic remark..........
Not really hard now is it......

I'm not suprised about this, since they've basically used Bella Notte for every release of Lady and the Tramp to date. And it works, and is the most memorable sequence from the film by far, so why stop? Beauty and the Beast didn't have the title in the middle either, remember, and it was a Platinum. I do think the title block is a bit large, but there's definately a good concept going here, if rough.

I feel it's worth pointing out that this is just old cover art that has been reused, i think it highly unlikely they would reuse old art for a platinum edition.

Oh, sorry.

You'd be surprised how many people on these boards would sincerely reply to a sarcastic remark thinking it was serious.

that sounds about right

lol. I'm not even gonna worry about the cover art. I'm sure once they fix it up, it will be in normal proportions (rectangle), the characters will be better and i think it will look great.
as of now, the could make the pink title box a little more subtle. and the costumes on the two waiters are giving off a little too much valentine colour scheme. but look how much cinderella progressed...

Cinderella progressed MORE than that! There were 3 or 4 different DVD art options online somewhere...

Yeah, but those other covers were for a poll Disney conducted to see which cover consumers preferred. Once they chose the first one, that's when Disney tweaked it (twice).

If that is the final cover art for Lady and the Tramp than UGH! It's probably the worse cover art ever! Yup even worse than the Lion King Sing-A-Long video!

Relax, everyone! It's not even in the ratio size compared to the size of other artwork. There are such things are rough drafts and drafts and final drafts.

Well personally I kinda like that artwork and I hope that at least it still contains the spaghetti scene.
