Will this offer new features other than what's on the Collector's Edition?

If this is a Region 1 release, I'll be really surprised. I wasn't expecting a release until '09 for its 10th Annivery for HD DVD. If this is true, I'll be definately pick this up since I missed the other releases.
EDIT: I was getting a little excited with this release, but I guess is not for Region 1. ':x'

MovieMusicals.net > May I suggest you browse the International Forum again?
Short Answer: It has two new games and a Disneypedia. The Music Videos and Deleted Scenes are moved to disc 1 and a text essay is missing.

Well if this is true, then it is excellent news!!

Hopefully we get details soon. Hopefully it will at least be the same as the OOP CE or what's been released in other countries or maybe even an improvement (not likely).

I'd be quite disappointed if we get the Tarzan CE re-released and still no Lilo & Stitch Special Edition this fall. It'd be a little unusual though that Disney didn't take advantage of the Tarzan II DVD to promote it if it's coming. Notice how no source is given, so I'd take it as rumor at this point.

If true, that would be good news.

Well, this is really wierd news, but great news! I was expecting news on the Lilo & Stitch DVD instead, but I missed out on the collector's edition, so this is great for me. The timing's a little off though, don't you think? Tarzan II was just released. Maybe they'll put Tarzan II back in the vault in like, 2 days and then re-release it in October under the name: Tarzan II: super genius special boom edition.

I can't wait until october!

While this is good news for those who don't already have it, I (like Luke) will be annoyed if this comes and Lilo & Stitch's SE gets post poned again. Lilo was rumored for a September release, but it's getting too close to the fact, now, for a press release to be issued. Our only hope is if Disney surprises us with it in October, November, or December. If Tarzan is really happening, October is out the window what with that and Cinderella, which leaves us with the last two months of the year.

If you really want to know my source... It's BVHE. I was suprised as well, but they couldn't have made a logo for the DVD when it's not coming...

It's not on the BVHE press site yet...

Hmm. I had expected this this year, but figured that it would come before the sequel to promote it, not after. I know that Tarzan II has been selling well, but I think it might have sold even better if the original had been available first.
Simmilarly, the appearance of L&S2 in August BEFORE the 2-disc edition of the animated classic suprises me, and I'm not sure what to think about it.
In any case, the new edition of Tarzan is welcome news to me as I too missed out on the previous versions. It seems like all of the major out of print (modern-era) releases that I don't already have will be coming this fall--forgiving Mermaid, which we know is slated for next year, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, and Tarzan all slated for this fall means that almost all of the films I grew up seeing in theaters will be in my collection by years end. That's good news to me.

If this DVD does cone out, it will be great. But what happened to DUMBO, and LILO and STICH re-release????

Dumbo, I'm willing to bet, will come out next year in a 65th Anniversary Edition. Lilo & Stitch I have no idea about, but I'm still holding out hope that we'll get it by the end of the year...

Saw this on Disneydatabase:
International dvd's never have these kind of logos, R2 and others usually say "Walt Disney Classics". This is definitely a region 1 release. And I think I'll pick that one up. So far held off buying any new Tarzan dvd.
