Looks like Luke's post in the Paul Winchell thread cursed things here...!

(though admitedly he died on Saturday, so before Luke posted... still that was the day following Paul. Don't these things come in threes now?)

Oh for goodness sake, why did I have to say anything? :(

That voice is unmistakable, and it was easy to identify him as Piglet in film appearances such as 12 Angry Men and Midnight Madness. He surely will be missed. I think the original voice of Eeyore may still be alive, but aside from Roo and the various Christopher Robins, almost everyone from the original cast has passed on now. :(

How unusual that Tigger and Piglet would go just hours apart. While Jim Cummings does a great job as Tigger, Fiedler isn't going to be easy to replace, I don't think.

Oh wow. That's terrible. I just watched 12 Angry Men. He was great in that movie. :)

Oh no, now we lose the voice of Piglet as well. This has been a sad weekend indeed.

Both John and Paul will be missed.

Everything comes in threes - and this is especially the case in celebrity deaths. Happened with John Ritter. Happened with Buddy Ebsen.

Who's gonna be the third?

Aw. I loved him in the Bob Newhart show. :(

Yeah, I can't believe they'd pass on just hours apart like that.

You forget That Touch of Mink.

That's freaking creepy, and most definitely shocking and sad. That means every cast member from the original film (minus the three Christopher Robins) is now gone. Eek, I hope I didn't curse them. I never got around to watching Pooh yesterday, but I most definitely will today in memorium of both Paul and John. :(

Maybe the third (first) was Howard Morris (Gopher) a couple of weeks ago??

Well hopefully no one else will pass on for a long time. I don't know exactly how many of the original voice actors are left. I know Clint Howard who was one the original Roos is still alive but he's a lot younger than the rest.

Oh and all the original Christopher Robins are probably alive.

I have no clue about the original Eeyore and I think the last time I was on IMDB checking his profile out they never had a birth or death date.

This is terrible. Piglet was always my favorite character in the Pooh world. Today, I was just thinking how lucky he was to live this long and provide Piglet's voice for so many years, and then I came to general discussion today, saw this right below Paul's R.I.P. thread and I said to myself "Oh, please no." He was one of my favorite voice actors. I don't think they'll have an easy time replacing (that's such an ugly word) him as Piglet. Disneykid gave me the idea to watch TMAoWtP yesterday when Paul died and I remember how much I enjoyed Piglet in it. R.I.P. John.

According to IMDB (which never lies  ), the remaining original cast members are:

Ralph Wright (Eeyore), who apparently has no birthday according to the site.
Clint Howard (Roo in Honey Tree and Blustery Day)
Bruce Reitherman (Christopher Robin in Honey Tree)
Jon Walmsley (Christopher Robin in Blustery Day)
Timothy Turner (Christopher Robin in Tigger Too), who also has no birthday
Dori Whitaker (Roo in Tigger Too), who has no birthday recorded either.

So, that's all the cast members still alive. May they be healthy for years to come.

Oh, and sadly, we have another death. Sorry, but in addition to Piglet's, Tigger's, and Gopher's voice actors, Thurl Ravenscroft, who is credited as Singer (uncredited) for the movie, died on May 22, 2005. Not the biggest part in Pooh, but a part nonetheless. He was an accomplished Disney voice actor also. May he rest in peace.

I am not telling my daughter. Could have had something to do with the first death. My grandmother dropped dead on the spot when she was told by step-grandfather died.

That's actually a pretty good reason for why these guys died so close together. Just think: these guys all worked together three times to make these cartoons. They all became great friends. Now, all of them are dying. John probably got so upset about his friends dying that he too passed away. I don't know, it sounds logical enough. I don't know how I would feel if I had to outlive my friends.

John's work on TENG was great. What can I say, the old man in that movie was a rebel!

When I first saw this thread I just thought, "This has to be a REALLY BAD joke. He just couldn't die this quickly!" And when I found out it was true I was just incredibly shocked!

John Fidler was such a great voice actor. Not only for Piglet but for many others. I remember I just watched Robin Hood not too long ago and when I heard that mouse talk I said, "Yup that's Piglet." And I too liked his voice in TENG! He will sadly be missed along with Paul and Phil! :(

I find it rather ironic that the voice of Eeyore, the most depressed character in the hundred acre woods, is the only voice actor left!(well aside from The Christopher Robins and the Roos). Now he's probably more depressed than ever! :(

As for who will replace Piglet since nobody has replaced Piglet before, I would say Jim Cummings! Even though he is already doing Tiger and Pooh, I think he does such a great job with them! I can hardly even tell they are voiced by the same person. While nobody can replace an original, I think Jim does it very well. I wonder how his Piglet sounds! And if he doesn't want to do it I can suggest Brad Garret. I think he can do every single voice in the world. Who knows he might make an okay Piglet!

What is really weird is not that this is the third voice actor for Pooh to die this year along with Tigger and Gopher, but how many Disney legends have died! I mean Thurl Ravenscroft the voice of many Disney character(mostly theme park characters) has died, the composer of the Mickey Mouse Club theme song has died, Joe Grant has died, John Mills has died, Ruth Warrick(the actress from Song of the South) has died, the actor from Escape from Witch Mountain have died all from this year. And let's not forget last year when Frank Thomas and Jerry Orbach died. IT'S INSAINE!

I pray for all the the family members of the actor and the actors from Pooh who are living today.

I also hope that we don't have any more Disney legends die so soon after this and they can live happily after this insaine number of Disney legends dying. This includes Ollie Johnston, June Foray, Alan Young, Fess Parker and Annette Funicello(who's really sick at the moment.)

R.I.P!
