I don't know whether there was a thread about the movie Cinderella Man or not. If there is, it didn't show up on the search results.
Anyways, I want to talk about the movie Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger. I saw this movie two weeks ago and I must admit that this movie is really good. For those who haven't seen this movie, I will tell you why:
1. This movie is definitely the one that will appear with Oscar nominations next year. Like Seabiscuit in 2003, this movie really should be remembered next year during Oscar season
2. Great performance by Paul Giamatti. He didn't get a Best Actor Oscar nomination for Sideways for 2004 so I think he should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor and maybe win the award too
3. It's one of those movies where you will find yourself hanging onto your seat during the final climax scene.
This morning when I was reading the newspaper, I saw the times for the AMC theater here in my town and they had a note about Cinderella Man saying:
AMC believes Cinderella Man is one of the finest motion pictures of the year. We believe so strongly that you'll enjoy Cinderella Man, we're offering a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. (Same day on the spot, full refund of the price of your movi ticket will be given at the theater Box Office or Guest Services. Proof of purchase required.)
So to everyone here, I wish that you will see this movie if you haven't seen it yet. See it now in theaters before some dumb summer movie knocks it out of the theaters and then that dumb summer movie is gone next week.

I don't know. I heard alot of GREAT stuff about The Aviator but I thought it was awful!

Well this movie seems interesting, but I'd rent it first if I was going to see it.

Well, I went to see it just because it was Renee Zellweger in a period movie and I needed something to do, but I came out loving it! It was exactly what it's being touted as: a real, feel-good movie that anyone can see (though younger viewers may find it too long).

What I really loved was that it's a "sports" movie in which the athlete isn't playing for himself, or even for the love of the game: he's only doing it because he has to for his family. Maybe he started because of something else, but he quickly changed those priorities when his family was jeopordized. Yes, he chose a profession which required courage, but the real courage was the fact that he fought for his family.

Quite frankly I'm tired of middle-brow boxing movies. I'm sure it'll be nominated for a ton of stuff next year...Yawn. I really don't care, because just the fact that it was directed by Ron Howard and stars Russel Crowe, I feel like I already know what will happen.

Very good movie, but placing it on the summer schedule is just killing its earnings. Right now, it's earning a little over half of what it took to make (its earnings are $44 million, and it cost $88 million to make).

Cinderella Man would've have a better chance of breaking even at the box office had it been moved to the holiday season (but it would face competition from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the like).
