I didn't notice if these were mentioned here yet, but PlayUSA.com lists the following bonus material for the DVD:

I saw that at the Digital Bits and one aspect of it concerned me...

"The Making Of Mickey's Christmas Carol"

I realise that they are only listing bonus features and that 'Mickey's Christmas Carol' would obviously be included as regular feature content on the disc, but I'm just hoping that they do include it and not just a "making of featurette". That would be extremely dissapointing!

I actually find that encouraging.
I find it highly unlikely they would include the 'making of' it if they were not going to include the actual film.
Really excited either way now...shaping up to be one hell of a set.

"Mickey Meets The Maestro"? Hmm, I hope it is not the same featurette from the 2000" DVD! Deleted Animation from "Sorcerer's Aprentice" is obviously the one when mickey hacks the broom.

Since when is that missing?

I have the fantasia video and its right where it should be!

Well, actualy it's a different version of the scene! In this version, Mickey hacks the broom on-camera. In the final version, we only see the shadows. This alternate take is already on the "Fantasia'" DVD, but is on "MM in LC 2" again!

so they added extra animation to make it more suitible!

I don't know if you are understanding me. This scene was deleted by Walt Disney himself during production, it wasn't even in color. The scene is very short, it only shows Mickey breaking the broom in pieces, nothing else. It's on the bonus disc of the Fantasia 3-disc set, but it's also mentioned on the "Fantasia" movie disc (check out the making of).

Those last two are already on another Walt Disney Treasures DVD. How stupid of Disney.

What, no Mickey Mouse Disco?

What are the Special Features for the other three DVD's?

I am angry about the repetition of material from the Behind-the-Scenes set. What a waste of space.

I can dig why everyone would be upset about the repetition (repetition) of the material from the other discs, but as I've said before: every DVD is someones first DVD.

The early Treasures are quite hard to come by now, and not everyone is going to be able to afford to go back and get them (I certainly couldn't...but did anyways ). For the sake of having a really comprehensive Mickey Mouse set, I think it is great they are putting those clips on there.

If the person still wants to watch the full episode, it is available as well if you go looking for it.

Anyways, I think it will be a great set and can't find a thing to complain about....

If having little clips repeated on the sets bothers people that much, call Disney up. They may send complimentery tissues to dry those tears! Har har!

I agree with Maerj, we should be happy we're getting this never released material that prob wouldnt have never been released, instead of whining about repeating material we should be happy we even have it!

I'm sort of with Dacp over this. Disney know that the prime appeal of the Treasures sets are to collectors. And as a result, there is going to be a high percentage of collectors who have all or most of the sets. If the Treasures sets were non-limited and on a more 'general' release, the percentage of crossover would be smaller and the repetition of supplements more justified and not an issue.

But I do feel cheated that the supplements are repeated. I expect this disappointment will be minor however, as PlayUSA (who seem to have more information than other e-tailers) still list the set as having a run-time of 345 minutes. By my (admittedly rather slap-dash) calculations that means that the supplements are over two and a half hours. Short repeated features in this run-time are likely to be nothing more than "side-steps" from the bulk of the all-new materials.

I'm really excited about this set - it really does seem to be the ultimate Treasure's release to date. The Front Lines seems to be a good set too, but I'm disappointed about the run-time - given the known length of the Goofy set as well as the expected length of the second Mickey colour set I'm sure a few more wartime shorts could have been squeezed into the set.

But Mickey Mouse In Living Color Vol 2 does seem to be one great release!

No.

Example time: Let's say that WB is finally releasing Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies in chronological order. But they decide to start with the year, say, 1959, so they don't have to restore much or show any rare cartoons. Then they realize their mistake and release the cartoons again, starting in 1930, when the series started. Then they repeat the year 1959 on DVD with a bunch of other cartoons not already on DVD, thus people have to buy the same material twice.

So, should people complain or just pay extra money?
