I've split this over to a more appropriate thread from Luke's 2005 Box Office Predictions

I see from Luke's thread that Herbie Fully Loaded had a less than spectacular start. :(
Here's the top 10 for Yesterday from BOM:
1) Batman Begins $5.5 M
2) Mr. and Mrs. Smith $3.1 M
3) Herbie: Fully Loaded $2.7 M
4) Madagascar $1.5 M
5) The Longest Yard $1.1 M
6) Revenge of the Sith $1.0 M
7) Sharkboy and Lava Girl $0.8 M
8) The Perfect Man $0.7 M
9) Cinderella Man $0.6 M
10) The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants $0.6 M

Herbie made $819 per theater.
Nooooo! Herbie can't flop. It has Lindsay Lohan and.... well... it has... er... did I mention Lindsay?

Oh, darn it, it just looks fun! Remember that people? fun? Imagine going to see a movie that looks fun rather then 'dark' or 'tortured' or 'gross out'?

At least the reviews seem to be positive.

Sad to see that the only way a movie can be considered a success these days is by how much it's box office is.

I'll go see this whether it hits big or not. It looks like a real fun movie, certainly better than what the rest of the movie industry has been throwing out this year. (been kind of an awful year so far for movies).

Like I said a while ago in that other thread I don't think it'll do well because:

1. Kids don't know who Herbie is.

2. There can't be too many Lohan fans.

Kids don't know who Vin Diesel is either and The Pacifier made $112 million. :P

Well, I actually know a lot of kids that think it looks cool and want to see it, but I wonder if their parents are old enough to remember the original Herbie movies enough to want to take them for the nostalgia factor.

Well I bet there are more kids with irresonsible parents that let them see, "Fast and the Furious" more then kids seen the original Herbie movies.

Oh yeah, you just reminded my of one of my kindergarteners earlier this year. We have a TV and VCR in our room, and one little boy asked me if he could bring in his favorite movie. I said, "sure!"

The very next morning he brought in "The Fast and Furious 2."

What reviews has Netty been reading. I have read three and all of them trashed the movie.

Will Disney release the uncensored Lohan breast version on DVD?

Count me in. Should we just start calling Henski, New Loomis?

Well here on Rotten Tomatoes: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/herbie_fully_loaded/

It got a 45% rotten! That is by no means a well-reviewed movie, but compared to many(Including Disney films) it's not doing that bad by the critics.

Well anyways I'm going to post a Herbie: Fully Loaded review on Sunday or Monday...

I have a free ticket to see Herbie got it from The Love Bug DVD at Wal-Mart. So, I'm going to see Herbie on Saturday because of Lindsay Lohan and Michael Keaton.

I'm not watching this movie unless they restore Lohan's breasts to there correct size.

I'm sure the gross will be good. Wednesday is not a good day for a movie to open unless it is titled Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter. Mainly because parents of kids don't want to see a movie on a work night. But Friday's gross will be soooo much better.

I hope you're joking. Of all the dumb Internet rumors, I'm amazed at how many places have picked up that story over the last few months. I guess it's amusing until you consider how far-fetched it is.

Well the imdb has it listed on the Herbie Fully Loaded page under trivia. I wouldn't put it past Disney to do it. :P

At test screenings, some parents felt that Lindsay Lohan's character was too busty and revealingly dressed for a children's film. Disney technicians went back and digitally raised necklines on her shirts and reduced the appearance of her breasts by two cup sizes.

And we all know that IMDb, which has its information from user submissions, never gets anything wrong. It's a totally bunk story, though I really thought Jim Hill Media's pursuit of the truth would be the last of the story.

Disney runs a business and it would make zero sense to do something this costly for a movie they intended to be a big summer hit all along.

Yea, man. That's my reasoning for thinking Herbie will make $100 million. or more. :shifty:
