Just an advance notice to some upcoming price reductions on catalogue titles. A lot of these DVDs suck, but there are some widescreen (only Homeward Bound 2 is 16:9-enhanced, though). What About Bob isn't Disney, but I give it my hearty recommendation for a $9.99 SRP title.

Was: $19.99 New SRP: $14.99
Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco
Was: $19.99 New SRP: $14.99

Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves

August 5

Will hopefully finally pick up Angels in the Outfield in July at the new $15 SRP. Would pick up Muppet Treasure Island (and Treasure Island) to go with Treasure Planet, but Muppet TI is P&S and TI is overpriced for a barebones disc.

I remember "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid" - it was really funny! I might buy it now that the DVD is cheaper. No price drop for Treasure Planet or Lilo and Stitch? Just kidding. :D It's too early for Disney to reduce the price of those two movies.

Too early, yes, and also Disney hardly ever reduces the prices of their animated films. They temporarily reduced the MAP (Minimum Advertised Prices) of a few of the features (Fox and the Hound, Robin Hood, Rescuers Down Under, etc.). But nearly all of them still carry a $29.99 SRP, which is pretty high. But Disney's always been known to carry premium prices.

Muppet Treasure Island... I don't want to buy it until they release a WS version.

The R2 disc is 16x9 widescreen, but slightly edited.

It looks like there are three that I am going to get soon (or when they become available). Blackbeard's ghost, I'll be home for Christmas, and Princess of Thieves. with those prices (at Wal*mart anyway) who can pass them up!

Even at that price, Blackbeard's Ghost is a rip-off, poco. Probably the worst quality I've seen on a major studio DVD.

Check out the review I wrote with screencaps:

It's more dreadful than the dread pirate Blackbeard. :o

Thanks Luke! I'll spend my lack of money somewhere else!
