Welcome to the Ultimate Animated Film SURVIVOR Round 40, The Final!

This is a contest in which we aim to find out what UD members think is the greatest animated film ever made. All films are welcome as long as they are animated, be they theatrical, direct to video, made for TV, traditional, CGI or stop motion.

Everyone is welcome! You do not need to have voted in previous rounds.

Please note if you do not have 50 posts, your vote will not be counted.

Rules are simple. 1 film will leave and not make it through to the next round, there are 2 days for voting with every round.

This is standard survivor protocol, but I'll say it again. During the final We are voting for the films we want to WIN!

Please make your votes in bold if making a long post which mentions more than one film to avoid confusion.

Ichabod, I think there's a mistake. The Prince of Egypt is out, and Grave of the Fireflies is in.

Well, I'm glad these two made it to the finals. Some critics would really say that these are the best two animated films of all time. To be honest, I was very concerned that an underserving film would win. No offense guys, but the top 10 was pretty bad, but this is Survivor. The only films that could remotely have been considered the best are the two finalists, My Neighbor Totoro, and thanks to Time Magazine, Finding Nemo.

I'm going with Grave of the Fireflies for its sheer beauty in scenic design, its humanity, and it's understanding of its audience: it doesn't condescend just because it's drawn. One of the best war films of all time, best animated films of all time, and best films period of all time.

Fantasia is soo boring....

My vote in the finale is for Night on Bald Mountain, also known as FANTASIA

I'm casting this vote for one simple reason. I enjoyed Fantasia. I didn't enjoy Grave of the Fireflies. This is no knock on the movie's quality. It was brilliant and heartwrenching. But at the end of the day, there's a reason why it's been seen by so few people on this site. It's too hard to get through. It takes a high level of endurance to watch, and I sort of think that the number one animated film of all time should have some level of mass appeal. Fantasia isn't the movie I wanted to win. It wasn't even in my top ten. I wanted something with a cohesive story, intelligent script, and brilliant songs to win this. But there's a reason Fantasia is ranked so highly that we could never get a single vote against it. It strikes a chord with people. Everyone has their favorite sequence. And for a wordless movie set to classical music to still have this power after 60+ years.........well, I just think it deserves this.

While Fantasia many no be in my top 10 favorite animated Disney movies, it does come at #11. I probably was the only 1st grader that could sit through all of Fantasia and enjoy it. I really like all the great music selections and beautiful animation. My favorite scene being Sorcerer's Apprentice. Plus I never saw Grave of the Fireflies.

And Alan you just find anything boring if they don't talk about it at your school.

Anyway the AFI voted Fantasia the 58th greatest film of all time, so that's good enough for me!

Also in January 2003 a group called the OFCS(Online Film Critics Society) voted for the top 100 animated films here: http://ofcs.rottentomatoes.com/pages/pr/top100animated

and Fantasia came at #2! Toy Story came at #1!

I don't like Fantasia and I've never seen Grave of the Fireflies. So I'm voting for Fantasia because it's the only one I've seen even though it's a hopelessly boring movie that's only achievement is animation that's been topped many times before. What a wonderful choice.

since Fantasia is going to dominate anyways, Grave of the Fireflies.
