Miramax's Emma DVD

I bought the Miramax Emma DVD, and have noticed some really annoying things about it. The widescreen does not appear to be anamorphic, there is no DD 5.1, and when it reaches a certain scene the subtitles come on and there is no way to stop it! Does any one else have this DVD, and has the same problems with it?
