I plan to preorder Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse this week online and I had a question about how the dvds and booklet are packaged in the tin. I know some of you have the older ones (Mickey Mouse in Black and white), I've never ordered any Walt Disney Treasures sets before. So my question is are they better packaged than the Platinum series dvds? Also how are the booklets like, do they have better paper quality and how are the dvds packaged amaray or the opens like a book style....just want to get an idea of what I'm ordering. Thanks

they come in double alpha cases (ala Snow White) that booklet is glossy and is a better quality that regular booklets. they come with a lithograph and everything is enclosed a real tin can case that has a paper strip to seal it. they are 100% better packaged than Platinums!
Thanks so much Mickey Mouse boy.

Just to echo MMB's sentiments a bit, these babies come in their very own virtual safes. The Tins are oversized and perfectly encase the double disc alpha case, booklet and litho/postcard. The only gripe I have heard from some is that the Tins do not fit into their DVD shelves. But you can solve that problem by simply removing it from the Tin and displaying the Case itself.

The only gripe I have with the packaging is that the tins themselves are less durable than a piece of construction paper... I have yet to see one set in which the top of the tin case is perfectly symmetrical with the bottom and not in some way warped, bent or dented. Even on sets which appear to be in perfect pristine condition this is the case once the plastic is removed and you open up the tin...

And the "silver" on one of the corners of my Silly Symphonies is beginning to flake off.
As far as I know, I haven't mistreated the set.
[thinks]
[Shouts]Dee! Dee! What have you been doing to Daddy's Treasures?[/shouts]

Really? Flaking off? That's the first I've heard of that happening. Must be some serious wear-and-tear going on in your household

Hi! Are these double alpha cases in white color (like the ones used for the Toy Story 2-pack)?
Thank you!

Dark gray actually.
(But with the lights out, I guess that they can pass for black.)
