Disney hate

Why so much hate anymore for Disney? Every board crawls with wining and growning about sequels, remakes, parks, etc. I tried to fight it and got banned off DS. People Walt is dead and he isn't running things anymore. I waited my whole life for a Cinderella sequel and what happens hate. Am I the only one who wants to see what happens next? I want peace in the disney community but no others want to hate. Because Disney gave into hate Snow White 2 got canned. Am I the only one upset? How do you think I feel about that? I doubt Roy would be able to save Disney he would leave it vanauble to being bought out by Comcast. Where does it stop? It saddens me things are this way. People need to execpt the situtation and let it go.

Um well um. What exactly was the point of that diatribe. I am completely unsure.

Is it that we should just sit back and not comment on anything that happens and just accept it?

Its not Disney boards. Gloomy Guses are all over the internet. Most of them love the subjects that they complain about, I guess they just think they look cool or something.

She's basically telling us to shut up about the sequels and remakes.

But bradhig, have you seen those movies!? Cinderella II: Dreams Come True is one of the worst movies I've ever seen!!! Just buy the PE when it comes out in October and enjoy it. I'm sorry if our complaints are bothering you, but we're expressing our opinion just like you are.

I don't think demanding quality entertainment isn't really unnecessary groaning. If you're that big a Cinderella fan and want to see what happens next...don't you either A) hope they get it right and do it justice, or B) settle for using your imagination and deciding what happens next in your own head?

Yes, that's what fan fiction is for :D

If you want to write a sequel for Cinderella:
A) Make an account
B) Wait three days
C) Write the story
D) Put the story in the Disney section under Cartoons

Something I've found out is that any fan that feels passionate about a particular thing is usually the first to criticize it, whether it be Disney movies or cars or music or whatever.

I think people find something they like, grasping on to it as a vision of perfection in their minds, and immediately dislike anything that doesn't fit within that neat little package. One of my friends is really into Tori Amos, for example. Many people at one of her message boards have fallen in love with some of her music, but are highly critical of anything new that she puts out that might have a different flavor, leading my friend to almost feel guilty for liking her new material.

So in other words, don't let other people dictate what you like, and don't let other people's opinions bother you too much; we're all entitled to having one. I know that dealing with the hatred is frustrating, but if you see good where others do not, then where's the harm in that? And who is the one that finds the most happiness out of the situation?

I don't think that Cinderella II is the greatest movie around, but I don't exactly see it as the blasphemous pile of crap that many Disney fans make it out to be. Can we help it if we try to remain positive?

Heh. Listen to me. I should try to follow my own advice once in a while.

I gotta say, I have read some fan fiction that was SO good, I actually forget it was a fan fiction and sometimes confuse it with the real thing. I don't know how many times I remember a fan fiction of Buffy or Gargoyles and it was so well written and vivid in my imagination, it actually seemed like it was an actual episode.
Fan fiction can be a great outlet to continue a movie or series when all else fails. But just as Disney can make a bad sequel, someone can write a bad fan fiction.

I have some fan fictions I completed and some still in the works.

Been trying to write a Buffy/Gargoyles crossover for a while :D

i've read some fan fiction on gargoyles & the lion king & have enjoyed the stories. Some of the best stories/sequels come from the fans.

I always wanted to write fanfics, but I'm not a talented enough writer to pull it off. I always enjoyed Kim McFarland's fanfics of Darkwing Duck, though.

DS = Disneysites overrun by hate borg

Fanfiction net dropped a bunch of stories lately. I like Cinderella 2 yet it could have been better. The next one sounds interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if Cinderella 2 got rereleased after the PE was released in October. I'll buy Cinderella 3 no matter what after all I did buy Cinderella 2 DVD.

I like the version of Cinderella where her step sisters cut off there toes to fit into the slippers and as they travel back to the castle they pass out because they bleed to much.
Everyone has there own oppion aboot something, I haven't seen any of the Cinderella sequels so I cant really rip on it. But I've heard people say it was really bad and I'll have to take their word for it cuz I may never see it ever.

Maybe you need to accept the fact that different people have different opinions on the subject?

Sunset Girl, with each post you make my respect for you grows larger! You're always very respectful to others, no matter what the situation may be. I admire that! :)

Funny thread, to answer it, i'm not that kind of fan who can lower its expectetions just because it is Disney, i'm sure fi it was Dreamworks or others companies that would have released movies like Cidnerella2 or Tarzan2, then ALL OF THE DISNEY SEQUELS LOVERS here would scream that they are craps!

For one, I don't really mind remakes. I liked the remake of 101 Dalmatians, for example. I'd love to see some more live action remakes of animated classics that are closer to their source material, in particular Alice in Wonderland and Winnie the Pooh.

On the topic of sequels and theme parks, I'm not sure if I can comment. I've seen a few of the DTV films and they were fairly disappointing for me, but haven't seen them all to make a final judgement that they're all crap. I've been to only one of the new theme parks (Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris) and found it enjoyable, but I can't make a final judgement as I haven't visited Tokyo Disney Seas or the Californian Adventure.

I think that it is best to accept other people's opinions, as Sunset Girl and DisneyFan2000 have stated, and to not get too wound up about them. And as long as you don't become someone who supports the Disney Toon Studios to the point where you force opinions down other peoples' throats at every possible attack point (*nod nod wink wink*), I am fine with your opinions. :)
