Not necessarily true. Look at Mickey's Christmas Carol and Prince and the Pauper. While they aren't exactly feature length, they're longer than a short, but shorter than a feature. However, the length isn't really important, in fact my point is that these are both very good films. Sure, there are misfires, like The Three Musketeers but that is true of any franchise (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Rocky II, Blade II, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, etc. (Just to note, I still really like these movies with the exception of Rocky II, Blade II))chaychay102royal wrote:They rarely get their own plots in films, unless the film is really crappy (take a look at The Three Muskateers).
Yeah, why spoil good characters? The reason for this is that the made for DVD releases from Disney really don't seem to have as much effort put into them as the theatrical movies, and I don't see a theatrical Mickey movie being made in the future.The future is hard to predict. I'm sure many were saying the same when the Mickey shorts ended in 1953 (and other characters in 1956) and really didn't get a start again until 1989's The Christmas Carol. Who knows, we could even see Mickey on the big screen if Disney doesn't give up their CGI policy. I actually didn't mind that so much. It was just a bit odd seeing these characters in 3-D.
