Hey all!
Im sure any Nintendo fans would have heard about Nintendogs for the Nintendo DS, the question is, what do you think of it? is it a glorified Tamagotchi? or a whole new gaming experience?

I haven't looked into it as much as I have with other games, but it doesn't look all that impressive to me. The concept of virtual pets has been done to death and while the graphics do look impressive, it's nothing revolutionary. If I owned a DS, this would be one of the last games I'd buy. I never really understood why virtual pets are so popular. I'm much more looking forward to Kingdon Hearts II, Sonic Gems Collection, Shadow the Hedgehog, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

It's Dogz all over again, but they are cuter and more realistic. None of those bulging eyes.
My 6 year old has been
PATIENTLY waiting for this game since we first saw an article and picture of it in a gaming magazine. I NEVER should have showed it to her. I can finally get her off my back when it comes out.
It looks cute and I might play it...for a hour.
Who can't like cute little puppies that don't really chew up the couch and pee on the floor?

Hey again! I've just read somewhere on the internet that Nintendogs has done amazingly well in both Japan and America, and is set to do well over here starting from next friday.
Just wondering if anyone here ended up buying it, and if you have any opinions on the game?
Thanks

I can't wait for it! It's coming out October 7 in the UK, I want the Labrador Retriever edition! I wouldn't just call it an update, the fact you can use a stylus to do tricks with your dog and shout commands to your dogs using the microphone sounds impressive.

I think that this game is a good choice when a kid want a dog but their arents can´t or don´t want to buy one, but for all the people who can, is quite sad to buy this instead than a real puppy

Yeah. If I wanted to play with a dog, I'd rather actually play with a real dog, not with a virtual one where you use a stylus to pat the dog

Can you turn these Nintendogs into vicious attack animals?

Do these dogs come with slipcovers?

I tried to try this game out at Target - I don't have a Nintendo DS, but I like virtual pet games. I don't have any real pets (my FurREAL doesn't count) but I like playing with virtual pets and this game looks fun to me, but then, that's ME.

I HAVE ONE!

Actually, I have 4 nintendogs...
because I can't clean up after a real one, Ryan bought me this.

But I guess it's the thought that counts!
Anyways, I own a Golden Retriever, Shiba Inu, Sheltie, and Shitzu!
And I've upgraded my "home" with a desktop so the dogs can play. It's really COOOOOL!

Like owning a real dog, except you can't feel the fur. I duno, I'm usually bored in my classes so I bring my DS along.
Can you turn these Nintendogs into vicious attack animals?
I dunno, I haven't tried. Though, when you ignore a dog, the manual says the nintendogs can run away. (But I wouldn't know this personally because I'm nice.

)
the question is, do they poop?:lol:
Yea, they do and they pee. Everytime you take them on walks. It's an interesting "game" because it's like you actually OWN a dog.

...without the
real clean-up and crap. And you actually have to buy food, water, teach them tricks, participate in competitions, and all that...
And pet them! Except...You can't feel the fur.

(Ahh, okay. I know I'm weird.

)

That sucks, I wonder if the Dogs can die in the Japanese version. Like in the Japanese version of Tamagotchi. I played a very cool Japanese Daughter sim called Princess Maker that was cool. The game isn't very PC though. You must not feed your Daughter too much or the Prince will not love her. One of my virtual Daughter grew up to be a writer. My other daughter a woman of the night. I guess I shouldn't have yelled at her all the time.

It seems your judging the book by its cover, you're giving us thoughts on a game you haven't even tried yet. The game has received superb reviews:

The whole concept of the game is addictive, I don't think is sad at all. And chillax is
just a game. I don't think is sad if people who can own a dog or owns one play this game. Last time when I gave it a try in Toys R Us, it looked like the type of game you could have fun with while time flies. If you're bored, picking this game up will keep you entertained for some time.
